How many portions is the lemon cheesecake supposed to make for those 582cals? Are they a generous enough size to halve again? I only ask because I could do with dropping a dress size and yet I really want to make that recipe!
Took some mince out of my bulging freezer last night and made a half batch of Shirley's chilli for OH, I made Kittie's bean curry for me, and with the other half of the mince I made a batch of bolognese sauce for the freezer (my own recipe I'm afraid).
OH's verdict on chilli-"absolutely lovely", My verdict on the bean curry- very, very nice. I think I might have found a new favourite!
Although despite having made half batches there still seems to be four portions left, which is good- It saves me cooking another night:T
Now I just have to find a way to get all these containers back in the freezer!0 -
Afternoon all, just made batch of Twinks hobnobs using weezl's suggestion of subbing 50g of cocoa powder for equal amount of flour. Yumyum, chocolate hobnobs! :T :T
Made french onion soup last night and I can't figure why on earth I haven't made it before. It's SO EASY (especially if you just dump everything in the slow cooker and leave it all day) and SO YUMMY!!

that is for 1/4 of the whole Cheesecake I think I'd be happy with a slice that was a 3rd of the quarter so cut the cake into 12ths at roughly 194cals each0 -
Excellent news, 194cals I can squeeze in!0

sami and katkins, I think this is my fault! I asked sami :Ato calculate the nutrition and said all the dishes served 4 (our mythical family) I was of course thinking of the main meals, but those whopping cheesecakes certainly do serve more than 4 d'oh
Well spotted chaps, and I shall try to make sure the website has the correct data very soon:)

stuff to report on use of M&S vouchers
was over in Tunbridge Wells yesterday, so got a full chinese meal for 2 in a box, a huge strawberry/grain yogort and another peach/grain, a big bowl of salad and a pepperoni pizza, a lump of Port Salut cheese, a morello cherry frangipan tart and 2 pks of good quality sausages. Used vouchers for most of it, but as they don't give change, spent £1.27
used the same treaty principle for £8 of Tesco vouchers and have just got 2 mozzarella and 2 pepperoni pizzas which are on offer for £2 each in the little Tesco in Heathfield
so loads of meals there and all stuff I wouldn't usually buy
£71 worth more of M&S vouchers to go - I am liking this game!0 -

I also have charity shop finds to report
I was in need of a winter coat, so have been scouring the charity shops, of which we have several in this small town
Over the course of the last month, I have been delighted to find an olive green jacket made of a fabric with texture £3.50; a tailored red wool jkt £4.50 and a coffee colored wool/cashmere full length coat £10 - bargain
the red jkt is miles too big so I have operated on it and have pinned it to fit, now just have to sew the seams and tidy it up
the full length coat has the 70's slopey shoulder, but I think I can update it by changing those to sharp edged modern ones. I'm thinking of possibly shortening it too to a jkt length. My daughter doesn't think the collar would work with a jkt. I can see what she means, but I think it would look fine. I'll post some pictures so you can tell me what you think
the red jkt came with a detachable hood, which I won't use, so have taken it, and its buttons, off. If the weather is such that I need a hood, I would use my water proof walking jkt. Any ideas what I can use the fabric from the hood for?
Once I have sewn up the red jkt, I'll take some pictures so I can show you0 -

That's practically diet food!:T
It is so delicious as well, you would never know! Much better than any of those "healthy choice" cakes from the supermarket in my opinionMoney paid out from Topcashback so far= £105.89 :j

Wow you're quite the seamstress! Sounds like you have picked up some proper bargains there too. Please do post some photos, I would love to see them.
I am only just learning how to alter clothes but I never knew it could be so much funI love scouring the charity shops for bargains now knowing that even if they are a little bit big I can probably take them in to fit me properly. :money:
