I need some suggestions for my couscous mountain its already flavoured ....moroccan spiced as i recall .....any ideas

Shaz, I tend to use flavoured couscous up by making stuffed peppers.
I mix the flavoured couscous with some softened onion and a few chickpeas (or anything you have really) and then pile it into halved peppers that I have roasted previously and top with cheese. I put it back in the oven so the cheese melts and then serve them with garlic bread. I often eat any leftovers the following day for lunch tooMoney paid out from Topcashback so far= £105.89 :j

oh I forgot to ask;I have some festive paxo (aka not smelly sage n onion
) and I'm wondering if I made it up and mixed it with some mince then baked.
Do you think it would make a sort of meatloaf?

sounds great , will give that a go after i get some fresh veg in , for now i have made a tuna & bean salad (a can of mixed beans drained and a small tin tuna stirred into a huge bowlful of made up couscous) enough for 5 portions of packed lunch*****

Hi Puss and welcome
I would second nopot2pin's recommendation for silicone loaf pans .
Asda and Wilkinsons have then for around £5-6 each.
I bought a cheap one but found it smaller than a good one and a bit saggy.

An update on the running down of the ridiculously full freezer...
Last night it was leftovers of the soup I made. It was nice but afterwards I ploughed my way through far too many Christmas chocolates and ended up feeling very sick
Tonight's dinner was paneer and chickpea curry from the freezer with some freshly cooked rice.
How is everyone getting on?Money paid out from Topcashback so far= £105.89 :j

Good, thanks Hayley!
I made the pea & sundried tomato risotto for the first time ever tonight - YUMYUMYM. Sundried toms are usually like gold dust in this house, hence why I've never made it before, but we scored a massive jar of them from Costco recently so I wanted to put to good use. I did cheat and add a little sprinkle of cheese, but it's just because I'm cheeseaholic more than it actually needing it
.
I must be the only one NOT on store cupboard challenge - our cupboards were bare after Christmas! :rotfl:top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Hi everyone,
Just reporting back on my onion tart experience. I ended up baking a cake and some shortbread as well so it was all a bit full on. The tart wasn't as difficult as I expected to make but I did have to use a oven dish that wasn't quite big enough so it was piled quite high and I had some extra crust on the edge which I just grated parmesan on and it was very yummy. The tart was really good both myself and my OH very much enjoyed it and it is now in my folder to be used again. I was going to have garden salad with it but ran out of light so ended up having the peas and carrots with it as suggested and they went very well, especially the peas. My OH thought a pea salad would be brilliant with it (not that either of us has had a pea salad but we are now considering it:D)
Nopot2pin and Bigjenny I have been looking at silicone loaf tins so i think i will have to get some at some point as they do look very handy.
Shanks I would post a pic if i knew how, I did take a photo but will have to try and work out how to do it.
Pinkhayley and weezl thank you for the welcome. I think i am going to try the bean curry next as it seems like a popular choice, but will be doing the same as Nopot2pin and making it hotter as i love a good whack of chilli. I hope i haven't missed anyone, thank you all for your lovely welcome.
I actually decided to start using the website as I had been there often but not actually tried anything(laziness) when i saw on other threads some people saying it wouldn't come in on the amount stated or wasn't healthy etc. It really annoyed me seeing people slate it when they hadn't even tried it and considering the average Brit/Aussie/US diet (including all 3 so i dont offend anyone) I think that the meal plan would be considered very healthy particularly for that amount of money and if people grew some leafy salads even better. Great job to everyone involved I think you have all done brilliantly well:TThailand 3010/15000 20150 -

We have reflected quite frequently that it feels a shame if people judge CFR without trying it, as they could potentially save so much moneyby using it! So I think this is a very valid point
We haven't really come up with anything to get people to try before they judge though :rotfl:
But maybe, if you do have some success, and like any of the recipes, perhaps you wouldn't mind posting that where you saw people making a judgement without trying? It may stimulate others to be as open-minded as you are prepared to be :T
