  • I made Chicken & Onion pie tonight, unearthed some dried sage and chucked that in, very yum.

I have plenty left for lunch for DH and I tomorrow, Katie at playgroup and she takes a packed lunch.

They are (still) drying. Will post pics as soon as Paul and Joe have painted them - they are very simple but there are a couple that I think look okay.

Did lemon & lime cheesecake today, just shoved a spare lime in the Christmas lemon cheesecake
It tastes LUSH!! a little over cooked so the edge is not as nice on the mouth feel.

I thought it was going to be a disaster when I poured it into the tin and discovered I'd not blended it enough so I fished out the big bits that had already gone in then strained it in a colander so the smaller bits still went in. My gingernuts were also rock hard (honestly I bashed them with a rolling pin in the packet to help the blender a bit and it barely made a dent!!) I needed to use much more oil than stated to bring it together. When I cooked it loads of oil seeped out of my tin which I found just plain weird!
But any way it tastes gorgeous!

In case anyone is interested heres a pic of the blueberry cake I did the other week th_db3ee859.jpg

I've picked up some "salad Cheese" today to try out I think its a feta-alike and is cheaper per kg than value cheddar :T Any recipe suggestions? I haven't bought feta for ages and only ever put it in a pasta salad. (I hate olives btw before anyone suggests them :p) th_4b583799.jpg

That happened to the edges of my lemon cheesecake too but I never knew what had caused it. I will cook it for less time next time now you have suggested it :)

I have bought that salad cheese before and it's really nice. I predictably put it in pasta with olives though, so no good for you!

well I assume that's what did it, the middle is just perfect so I think I need to be braver and take it out while its still got plenty of wobble :)

Or maybe cook at a slightly lower temperature for longer?

I use feta in some gorgeous rolls in a recipe I found.

You add very finely chopped rosemary, olive oil, sundried tomatoes (plumped up) and pieces of feta

You can also poke rosemary sprigs in the top of each roll and drizzle with olive oil as well

    they are really good
