Weezl - i'm already looking at it
There are a few probs wit it for us but as usual most of those problems are coming from Chris! Hubby is glad there's no houmous as he hates it.
I bought a pack of chicken livers today 39p down from £1 - no idea what to do yet, so they're in the freezer and I'll try to turn them into pate next week-ish
I've not managed to make the orange cake topping yet due to baking my other things, I did sneak a little taste from it that was scrummy!
Jam in my cupcakes was interesting, it was raspberry jam not strawberry as I thought, but they turned a kinda bluey purple colour and are a little chewy in a good way, I'm sure they'll go down very well esp when I've put my strawberry icing on them0 -
I too would be interested in the lunch box planner0

We are up for testing lunch box planners in our usual stylee. I think it could have huge mass appeal.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

Well last meal of the planner and it went down well. We had our pots a bit chunkier than Allegras but both ex and i found it a nice easy, tasty and filling meal. Hadnt read recipe properly to start with and thought it was the Croatian salad with added sausages, but the mayo addition was very tasty. Agree with Allegra that the addition of capers or similar would be nice.
Now i have to start thinking about making meals now instead of having them all planned out in advance with the recipe and everything:( Roll on the next eve meal planner:rotfl:0 -
Peter_Perfect wrote: »Hi I'm new to all this - both online forums and closely watching what I buy and eat! Surfing the threads is very illuminating but please forgive what may be a silly question - what is classed as 'good' olive oil and what would be 'bad'? I have used supermarket olive oil for quite a while....typically I buy the cheaper stuff. Ta!
For me a good EV oil should taste liked squeezed olives - fruity, grassy. slightly peppery and not too acidic.Flavours can vary but these are the main aspects to look for.
A bad oil can be any or several of the following - insipid, mouth puckering, with off flavours, rancid and greasy. That sounds odd , I know there is a difference between oily and greasy - greasy hangs round on the palate. I quite happily drink a spoon of the good stuff (for medicinal purposes) but gag at the bad.
Hoe that helps - it's hard to describe. Wish I could hand out taste samples!NSD 0/150 -

Sorry to thread hog but just looking at the Daily Mail online (I know, I know
) and there's an article here on how you can make a Christmas turkey dinner for "a mere £21.06" (!!!!) by trawling the main supermarkets for 'bargains' - shame you can't post links in the comment section, or I'd be telling everyone how with CFR and one trip to Asda, you can get a whole week's Christmas menu for four for £25!
Knew it was gonna be funny comparing Mockmas week to what was touted in the media/adverts as a good deal for Christmas food... but "a mere £21.06" for one meal, and that's cheap?!? :rotfl:0 -
I'm very much looking forward to the lunchbox planner! DH loves the traditional sandwich lunch, so this should be a hit with him.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

had my DD up yesterday for the day and HER DD (13, nearly 14)
DGD loves to cook, so we made the smoked salmon pasta for lunch with a salad, but I am the only one of the 4 of us (including DP) who likes fish, so we subsituted crispy grilled bacon cut up very small for the salmon. Plus I didn't have any cream, so just used milk
we used 6 rashers of bacon between the 4 of us and it was LOADS, could easily have used 4 rashers. It was absolutely delicious. I asked DP if it was something I could put on the meal planner list, and he said, of course, but with some mushrooms in it (he always has to find something to improve)
then we had cfr brownies for pudding, DGD made those too, and loved them
when they first arrived, we had a cup of tea and some boodle biscuits, so we were well cfr'd up yesterday0
