Hello everyone, I am a long time lurker to the cfr threads and as far back as Weezls 50p/day threads.
I am getting married in December and obviously am going to have to keep an eye on the pennies so will make good use of the recipes on Kitties and Shirleys plans (I am veggie but OH isn't). Already had the nut roast and the onion tart and we enjoyed them both.
I really just wanted to say well done to all of you, thanks for a really great resource and keep up the good work!:T0 -

So I've finally found the time to tell you how to search the site easily even though it doesn't have a searchy box
All you do is take yourself to google or a google box if your browser has one,
type the thing you want to search for followed by a space and Site: cheap-family-recipes.org.uk
and hit Enter - et voila!
We had Salmon Pasta for tea againI made the boys with goats milk and it worked perfectly and wasn't goaty which was good because I made a bit too much of the goaty sauce so just mixed it in with OH and I's cows milk portions

New people, you haven't lived til you try the carrot cake, just saying ;-).Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -
Thank you cfr for encouraging me to make my own stuffing, goodness knows why I hadn't before when it's so easy. Did the fruit free version again and 4 out of 5 ate it
. Also thank you for reminding me of the awesomeness of chicken in pie. Can you guess what we had for tea :-D!

CARROT cake? A CAKE made of CARROTS! Are you having a laugh!
(only joking, off to find recipe now- never had carrot cake before and me a vegetarian!)
Does it taste very carroty, I think 'carrotyness' might be what scares me off?0 -

qos, we had chicken pie last night, too!
katkin - carrot cake is my very favorite cake on the planet. You are seriously missing out. If you want to try and indulgent non-CFR style one first, go to any local bakery. THe cream cheese frosting is THE BEST. *nomnomnom* but the CFR one is very good for everyday eating.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
