I suggest everyone emails to complain to their local Trading Standards. The email address of your local TS can be found at https://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk
Trading Standards (Central) have a guide
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=adv1011-1111.txt
which includes information such as:
"If you think a shop is deliberately trying to mislead you, or are unhappy at the way a shop advertises its prices, you should call your nearest Trading Standards Service, which has powers to investigate."
"If you order goods, and later the shop says the price has gone up, you should only have to pay the price you saw when you ordered, unless you were told there might be an increase. To be certain, ensure you get the price in writing."0 -
...or you just let it go...0

I am letting go ... what about others?0

I'm not bothered about the DVDs, it just feels like they are not quite telling the whole truth here. This was obviously a mis-price, but Amazon don't seem to want to admit it to me...0

I for one hate the way these companies lie to us. I have an email from them which says they were unable to source it, but it was in stock this morning. I shall pass that information onto Trading Standards and let them decide what to do with it.0

Best thing to do in these circumstances is write a letter to Amazon and try to get £5-£10 compo, then move on to the next bargain. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
biglugs wrote:What do you think TS will be able to do? Amazon were not in any way contractually obliged to sell these to you, and the price was clearly a mistake anyway, so TS will just tell you it's tough.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all who gave me advice about getting my postage back from Amazon for my recent order which they charged postage on for 3 items bought at the same time as the Disney DVDs. Have had an email today confirming they are crediting my account with the postage amount.
Thank you all.0 -
