I understand your example however bearing in mind that the label machine is the same one that controls the prices on the till, how does one actually obtain a label that states the incorrect price??

It is simply not possible to put up a label that is current and incorrect.

Add to that the fact that there is no way that the profit margin on a box of teabags that costs £1.75 would be anywhere close to 65p. It may be 65p extra turnover but certainly not profit!!

Showing my COMPLETE ignorance here spa2k
when you say label, do you mean the sel or the sticky price label on say books or something else

If you mean the sel - well how can 'incorrect' sels be removed - ie ones that do not agree with what you have been charged......and then reappear again hours/days later ? Yellow or white sels disappear and reappear - and still do not agree with the price charged, so I do not understand how they can have been generated by the "machine is the same one that controls the prices on the till"
The only one I have observed do this is the little price reduction contraption which prints out the bar-coded label which the till then reads.
There have been LOADS of white and yellow sels without any end date, which are obviously wrong on the dvd/games etc. Where did these come from considering a week ago NO sels could be seen.
Are you saying a sa has somehow dug out some old 'out-of-date ones ? and if so surely in the current climate a dept head should be checking that this doesn't happen.

Can I just ask you your take on the price labelled packaging which doesn't agree with the price charged.
I posted the multi-pack coloured dividers WEEKS ago - about £1.x6 on the cardboard packaging the dividers came in, £1.x7 charged.
Posters are still getting these R&Rd week after week. I have seen the box price inked out/torn off/box turned round. Why does Tesco not alter (ie reduce) the price the till charges by 1p - then we could not get an R&R, the staff would not have to phaff about trying to remove the lower prices on display etc.
Presumably when the packaging was ordered Tesco planned to sel them at the lower price - why increase it by 1p and have all this resulting extra work for store staff, and R&R's for us ?
This is just one example recently of this practice - the driver starter kit and stacks of other stationery are similarly out by 1p - madness:confused:

I thought.....I havent seen "him" post tonight...I'll just edit this, I had

"Notiority at last," EDIT....Notoriety....Thats the word I was looking for

    "beat that spa2k"

"I knew we'd get you into RandR somehow"

I then decided i had better stop editting, as if you were watching, you bound to post in the middle of one of my edits. Conversation wise, I'm ok.....but like to get the most out of my posts......and always manage to think of something I should have said seconds later. Wont edit this....unless I see a whopping mistake.....find I'm becoming a bit one fingered dyslexic.......
