To be honest if a refund was issued and the label not removed I probably wouldnt be to happy, however the question would be more aimed at why the label was still there in the first place...
It should be prevention rather than cure.
Agree with that Spa2k, however, would like to add, (and I don't no if anyone else noticed this ?) but I've had an rr, seen the SEL removed, then found the same SEL back up a few days later.
Now call me cynical if you like, but I reckon that is just a blatent ploy to catch more people out and overcharge them.
Not suggesting you do that, but if it did happen in your store, what would you do ? And is it grounds for a P45 ?Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
toadyfrog wrote:If they would they should do it at Brent Park. This must have the worst CS ever. They have added a bit to their sign to say the policy doesn't apply to special offers. They even argued with me once that the every day low price sticker was a special offer. I don't bother with this store now as I'm just going to hit them with a big one. Must keep up with this thread though as I completely missed the Xbox fiasco.
Contact Head office about the addition to the sign, it was posted somewhere in here about the Leyland store I think who are notorious at refusing they put a 2 item bulk buy policy up and would only r+r 2 items. HO was contacted and re-training undertaken or somthing like that.
I may call in there at some point and see if it has worked. I did get a CD out of Leyland once but it was a dificult one they said both prices were displayed so it wasnt an overcharge.0 -

I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

just had a fab r&r experience at a store we dont normally use(or should that be abuse) lots of meat incorrectly charged. bit of a mess at c/s desk no one could work out why the items were not coming through at the right price so the c/s lady kindly took us through to the cafe and bought us a cup of coffee while we waited for the r&r! perhaps we will get our own lounge and frequent r&r er points!0

I did my first R&R this morning & i was shaking like a leaf :rotfl:
Took my lamb & steak to CS & she went to check the shelf, came back & said that the meat was on promotion & that the money had already been taken too :rotfl: . Being the brave girl that i am i said 'I think you'll find that it hasn't'.
Humpy CS said i'll have to speak to the manager, i smiled & said 'ok then'.
About 5 mins later she comes back without the manager & started to refund me..... i said to you need the other 2 pieces of meat i have in my other bag lol.
Her face was like thunder & didn't speak a word to me. I on the other hand was very polite & thanked her for her help
Off i go to the 2nd tesco & got two 2 packs of steak.
The CS lady was very nice & wasn't a probably but tried giving me the difference for the steak until i pointed out, i thought your policy was to refund all the money. She went to speak to someone & then came back & refunded me the £8.
Thanks everyone :T“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”

spa2k wrote:The price on the label does not effect the price that you are charged, how would putting up an incorrect SEL benefit Tesco in any way shape or form?
Yes, that's the problem with Tesco! There's one price on the label which frequently bears absolutely no resemblance to what the computerised till decides to charge.
I feel a bit like teaching my grandmother to suck eggs in answering your question about how would putting up an incorrect SEL benefit Tesco, 'cos I'm sure you must already know. But here goes:
Tesco put a label on a shelf showing that boxes of tea bags are for sale at £1.00 each. Gosh, think I, I'll take six boxes to last the next two months because it's such a good buy. But then I get to the till, and the computer decides to charge me £1.75 per box - not such a good buy, especially since ASDA are selling them at £1.10. So Tesco have benefitted twice over, once by getting £1.75 for a box of teabags available elsewhere for £1.10 (65p extra profit), and then by persuading me to buy SIX boxes (rather than go to ASDA where they are cheaper).
Of course, they've only gained if I didn't notice the overcharge, unlikely in an MSEer, but how many other customers do they manage to bamboozle in this way?0
