Richie23 wrote:Can i also ask were these "banning" letters sent recorded delivery??
If they werent then I cant see them being too serious..what would happen if these letter never ever made it to you...lost in the post?? if they were sent recorded then you'd have to sign and Tescos would know you've received them!
Ours was sent by normal 2nd class post!0 -

Without a shadow of a doubt I would, can you ask the powers that be to introduce portable scanners? Maybe attached to trolleys or something?
Just an idea....
Now you're talking.:T0 -

Just wondered where you would put them all!!
Portable scanners...great idea in concept and something that i would love too however in reality the cost would be an issue, these things would get broken like nobodys business with the way that kids love to touch things....also from an IT point of view how would they be kept updated? A wireless connection would seem to be the way but could you imagine if for one day the connection was lost to 1 scanner - the customer would have a field day!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

A big safeway opened by me and they had portable scanners, so you scan your own shopping and they may or may not double check your shopping when you went to pay. They were great. But then tesco's opened a big store and took a lot of customers away so they closed.0 -
also while talking about safeway if you had an item that wouldn't scan you used to get it free0

In Honiton today, pretty much everything I was looking for was correct. The Rowenta 'Effective' Steam Iron had the correct yellow half price SEL for £14.98, the Tetley Smooth Flow Bitter had the correct SEL for £15.98, the Beck Vier had the correct SEL for £7.99 and the 500g cherry tomatoes were correctly priced at £1.23. The only thing that was available was the Fosters, which still had the 2 for £6.00 SEL up, but there were only two packs left and I don't drink it anyway.
Then, in the last aisle, I saw that among the alcoholic gift sets, the packs of Champagne and Belgian Truffles were in a shelf display box marked £18, but had an SEL for £20.00. I got one and it went through at £20.00. Then, after I had gone to see the Customer Services woman, we went over to the display and she said that the shelf display boxes were nothing to do with the product. This despite the fact that other packs were in the same display boxes further back on the shelf. Then, as if by magic, a duty manager appeared behind us and the customer services woman explained what was going on to him. The Customer Services woman said I could just have a straight refund and I decided to take that, as it didn't look like I would get anything other than a ban by arguing it further. However, it should have been a nice R&R and others may have more luck.

Seriously though, if you saw a large item such as fridge, washing machine, even lcd tv, how many would you try for on r&R??
Just one..........................
in each store

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Spare room, basement, my mums house, ebay I'd find somewhere!
I didnt mean self service scanners, just price check jobs will do for what I want them for
I do agree tho, they would be a nightmare to maintain etc. We know tescos cant even be bothered with the couple on the wall in each store so they certainly couldnt be bothered with a couple of hundred trolleys.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I would have no problems standing at Customer services with two LCD tv's in my trolley. One for me and one for the daughters bedroom. If they over charge me how is that my fault and why should I feel guilty!!
Come on all Xmas is coming we all have people we need to buy presents for!!!We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0
