  • Just got back Mr T's:

Had a swift look round and spotted 2 displays for the Rowenta Irons, both with big yellow SELs, one for 14.97 and the other for 14.98!
The 14.97 is the most prominent of the two.
Swore that I could never do an R&R for a penny overcharge but the addiction took over i'm afraid
shoved it in my basket with my few other bits and paid.
When I got to CS i did it with a bit of comedy and stated that I was there to complain as I had been overcharged by a penny and I was disgusted! no problem full R&R and no offer of the difference lol from my carry on it was obvious I knew the policy, one of my better CS experiences. 1st R&R there, but prob not my last...:)

You know i'm sure i saw a mispriced fridge the other day but didnt have room in my kitchen for it.....

Seriously though, if you saw a large item such as fridge, washing machine, even lcd tv, how many would you try for on r&R??
in one store... probably one, more than likely try more than one store and would be happy with 2 of each. except the LCD TV which would be possible to use gifts for friends / relatives, and that isnt such a larger item as the other 2

Portable scanners...great idea in concept and something that i would love too however in reality the cost would be an issue, these things would get broken like nobodys business with the way that kids love to touch things....also from an IT point of view how would they be kept updated? A wireless connection would seem to be the way but could you imagine if for one day the connection was lost to 1 scanner - the customer would have a field day!!

I remember shopping in Safeway (probably over 10 years ago now) and they used to have portable self-scanners at the front of the store which you picked up and put into a special holder on the trolley. Don't know how long they lasted as I moved away - they have of course been taken over by Morrisons now - not sure whether they have continued with this.

It was quite clever - it wasn't for price checking though - you only scanned what you put in the trolley and then went to a self service checkout and downloaded the info from the scanner to make a till receipt. Every so often someone would want to rescan the whole shop. Didn't go there very often though - their prices were too high and only used to go in for the BOGOFs! :rotfl:

Yes there is a very small sign at the tills (about A5) in my local express. The staff dont usually know what to do so a manager has to be called!
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Yes it does - Extras, Normal, Metro, Express...........

For the small stores the R&R sign can be seen by the tills and front door - A4 size.
