Portable scanners...great idea in concept and something that i would love too however in reality the cost would be an issue, these things would get broken like nobodys business with the way that kids love to touch things....also from an IT point of view how would they be kept updated? A wireless connection would seem to be the way but could you imagine if for one day the connection was lost to 1 scanner - the customer would have a field day!!
my local sainsburys used to have them. u scanned ur shopping and went to a self sevice till and paid for the goods scanned.. brill untill thei said it was needed in a new store for flagship staus. so it went shame i used tol love shopping there untill i found this thread.:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol

Much easier to keep up to date though because there is a central point that they return to as well as the fact that there is a limited number of them. A large extra can have over 1000 trolleys, thats an awful lot of price checkers to maintain.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Thats nowhere near as many SELs as they have to maintain......Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Come on all Xmas is coming we all have people we need to buy presents for!!!
They had an out of date label on a Grundig tv yesterday in Merthyr.. finished on 10/10/06 i think it was... only had the one tv on display and she wouldnt let me have that. The offer was save £50!!
Worth keeping in eye on if someones in the area..0 -
You got anymore details on the Telly Richie? Really would like a LCD to play my Xbox on!! Have entered over 100 competitions recently for any TV's I have seen and not had any luck yet!!We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -
Ive looked in every store for the same tv but only saw it there. It wasnt a Lcd, just a flat screen..think it was 26inch and was "save 50..offers ends 10/10/06. It was in the Merthyr Tydfil store. By the electrical desk upstairs!!
Same place i mentioned earlier when the CS Advisor was a right moose..an I only had 3 games, dvd and fosters...can you imagine her face if I mananged to get the tv aswell!!!!!0 -

Chris....cant find this Aylesford store in the on-line store locator.......may be in Kent in the next month or so...
EdIT.............found it...had to search for Extra stores
Yes....funny that ...just do a normal(nearest) search for that store and it doesnt show.....do a search for "extras" and it comes up first 5.5 miles away.....
worth remebering that....I might have missed the odd store on my travels....(shock.....horror)Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Noticed today that lots of offers finish 23/10, 24/10, 5/11, 7/11, including the Christmas chocs & biscuits. Perhaps lots of chances for R&R if the staff are as slow as usual changing the SELs.
Finest steak mince, packs marked £2.15, SEL £1.97 instore today. No grief from C/S. Cash refund as usual, smiles too!0 -

This week coming is probably the busiest week of the month (being grocery promotion change), I'll come back to you at the end of the week with some approximate figures....Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
