i always use my clubcard when i do r & r simply cause then i can 'bury' the mispriced item with my other stuff and the cashier wont see the book sticker and notice the misprice on the till. i always do misprices with large shops and have only done 2 r&rs, althought they've both been in one week. how many people avoid using clubcards with r&rs? im finding it hard to not use the clubcard

you dont have to buy loads to hide an R&R, you can just bulk it by buying a few essentials, things that you would normally have to buy anyway. I had a 21.00 R&R yesterday and spent £4 on other stuff to make it look better..but stuff that I would have to buy anyway...like milk etc
  • In the last week I have noticed an unusual amount of new visitors to the two threads, low post counts. Has there been some media coverage or is it just word of mouth?
Hi - a little of increased activity might have been generated by a thread I started on another site's forum (same user name I use this one everywhere on the net-google it to check me out ;) ) just generally about the mispricing policy. I was trying to find out if there was a similar thread over there and what people thought - it turned into an ethical debate/almost slanging match (I got p*ssed off and unsubscribed from the thread in the end) BUT quite a few people PM'd me to ask for details of where I had originally read about this (here) and I passed on details. I started the thread there on 24 September and the link is here
    - you may have to be logged in to access it - I'm not sure - but this may explain some increase in recent visitors in the last few weeks - just mentioning as may help re the paranoia stakes! ;)

Yes I'm a new poster here too - this may even be my first post here I can't remember - have only been active on the other forum since beginning of Sept. and having got the hang of that thought I'd jump in here....
be gentle with me - I'm not a troll!

I'd just add that I first learnt about the R&R policy direct from a T CS person at local store at Redruth when I queried my receipt after realising an offer hadnt come up - was amazed to get my money back and the goods - so some of them do actively promote the policy - they neednt have told me and I'dve been none the wiser at the time... I didnt think anymore of it till I read more here - now have my eyes peeled when I can remember when I go shopping and certainly check my receipts more - havnt got the health & time to go actively hunting though ;) Sorry this is so long - Thanks to all for the good thread and info... :T

I would strongly advise against using your clubcard when R&Ring. If you come across a "biggie" and need HO intervention, HO will pull up your spending/refund history to see if you've been "abusing" the system. This then affects their decision on whether to honour the policy. Wrong, I know...but that's how it is.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Pick the cashiers that are young and look like they couldn't give a toss
or the ones that look like they are really stressed, if you need to divert their attention start chatting about the weather, the state of the country, or the price of fishcakes these days..if nothing else they will be so shocked that someone has spoken to them they will not notice any stickers! keep the clubcard for your normal big shop

well, the last (and first two) times ive done r&r ive only seen the misprice when doing a big shop so not thought too much about it. i guess i have to do r&r based shopping trips rather than doing r&r when im doing the regular shop.

i will hold off from now on then using the clubcard.

Re CC usage. Here's what I reckon -

If you are just buying miss prices, don't use one.

If you are doing your regular shopping anyway, use it. I believe it would actually make you look more genuine.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

That's exactly what you should be doing. In fact, NEVER do a 'regular' shop again! If you can spare the time and have transport, split the 'regular' shop into 3-4 (even 5!) separate ones and visit as many stores as possible to get these items. Diference being now is you are just getting a few 'regular' items so can devote more energy to actively pursuing the myriad of misprices Tesco's legendary inefficiency presents us with!
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
