when did people first start to r&r not just one off refunds but proper premeditated excurtions?
how long has tesco had this loverly policy?
who has r&r ed the most value of goods?

Personally I've been in the game since early 2005.

Tesco has had this policy for many years apparently.

I'm not in the game of totting up totals - enough to say that I R&R fairly regularly...

One thing though, there record on my spending must be up the wall as I drive from North Cambridge down to south coast weekly, oh and I have one of their location booklets too. How many different Tesco's can I visit in one week??!! lol

Waiting for my telling off from mr T !!

    Frett yee not.

I'm fairly sure (Tesco Dudes may confirm) that when you R&R and a clubcard has been used the CS staff can only see your purchases for that particular store.

That said, if you make a big purchase and have to involve Head Office in claiming your R&R - I suspect they can see all your clubcard-related transactions......

As far as I'm aware, the store can only see your purchases for that particular store. They can also see your contact details, too. You are right on all your points, Dude - HO can see everything you've been buying. The way around this is to not use your clubcard. They can't track you when you pay cash and don't use a clubcard. :D

In the last week I have noticed an unusual amount of new visitors to the two threads, low post counts. Has there been some media coverage or is it just word of mouth?

    Are there more trolls about?

I'm sure there are definitely more people becoming aware of this. I have certainly been spreading the word feverishly to all I come into contact with and know for a fact that some have become R&R'ers (although I'm not sure they post on here, I know some use these Tesco threads!). I've completely changed my stance on R&R'ing in the few months I've been doing it - at first I regarded it like a jealously guarded secret, afraid if it got too popular they would stop the policy and I wouldn't get any more free products. Now, I frankly want as many people as possible to do it, I would love it to get on Watchdog, and I'm currently in the process of drawing up a leaflet to drop through the doors of people who live local to a particular Tesco I was treated very shabbily at.

In short, I've become that most dangerous of animal - an R&R'er who wants every Tesco shopper to actively check their receipts and get those free products. :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Also I never scan anything, I feel like I am being watched if I do.

Coupon's posts are always well worth reading.

The scanning debate comes up from time-to-time - opinion is split over price-checking - a useful tool or a means for Tesco staff to identify the serial R&Rer....?

My opinion is well known - check out my scanning top-tip post from Friday on this thread.

I would only advise someone to avoid the Price Checker if they know they are being followed by a Private Store !!!!!!.

I was in an Extra yesterday - having finally found some PSP games with stickers on - I also noticed the new '2 for £30' promotion on GBA and DS games.

I must have scanned about 30 products (without any joy) before getting a R&R on some meat products to make up for my disappointing game hunt.

I was observed - scanning away - by a Tesco member of staff in the clothing department - she just smiled at me.

I think Tesco staff (apart from Spa2k and Constantine ;) ) are so damn busy with their jobs they are simply not interested - for the main part - in people using the Price Checkers.

So my advice is - use the Price Checker - perhaps double-back and check your rear if you want some reassurance that you're not being followed - don't look guilty or shifty (you're doing nothing wrong) - the Price Checker is designed to be used by customers!

    But Constantine is male.....:o

The interesting thing about the pyschology of the Internet is the amount of information people will just accept as being the truth.

How do you know Constantine is male or female......

Unless you have met him/her/it you can never ever be 100 percent sure.

hi,I am a sort of newbie I've been reading for over 6 months but due to technical difficulties my registration could not be validated ,I put in my email address as my user name among other things. In the last couple of weeks I have posted on other threads but not on here as I haven't found any thing new just what is already posted.
I have recieved a verbal ban for my local store ,I can still shop there but can't R&R this came from dundee c/s , letter to follow for my abuse of R&R.I have been refused R&R on some items & are in dispute (emailed sir T) & waiting for a call back from T/S but consumer direct didn't seem hopefull.
dundee said they didn't want to push me away but my R&R abuse had to stop it looks like I 'm a big spender as I tend to buy luxuary goods as I have saved so much money on R&R & coupons.
    any advice would be great.

Ok - so you are a newbie - your post count is 4.

To get a ban you must have been seriously hammering away at R&R activity - but your post count is 4.

So for 6 months you have been lurking noting misprices from here - your post count is only 4.

So you have given nothing to this community - taken everything - now you have a problem and want some help?

Your post count is still 4.

OK, it clearly states 2 for £2.20 on that box, yet the offer does not work on any combination of these cereal bars. How hard can it be to make sure that offers printed on the actual product work? Especially when it's an own brand product, too! That offer isn't a sticker - it's actually printed on the box! Do you get two boxes for £2.20? Do you heck as like. £2.50 is what you'll be charged - £1.25 per box is the normal price. How many people bought these yesterday and didn't spot that the multibuy failed to come off? This is a definite case where the till price is the wrong price. So, every extra 30p taken on these bars for a failed multibuy is profit.
