    Store Detective hunt!
    - Moved from misprice thread, I was up early and not awake!

Well I had an interesting experience yesterday, was on a traul of T's with ds and dd, A tall man caught my eye at the DVD's, (no he wasn't a looker) he was holding 2 DVD's, but there was something about him, anyhoo I said to DD that he was either a r&R'er or he was a store detective.
I next saw him in the electrical aisle, but wait, where were the DVD's?
Then he was in the baby goods aisle, wait for it, NO BASKET! I Stopped, looked at him, made sure he knew I had clocked him, then did a random pattern of movement, he went and hid in the optition part of the store, then left!
What was even freakier was that I then seemed to notice a lady, allways in the same aisle as myself, no basket, picking up random things, then not having said items the next aisle!

I have found a new game, spot the Store detective! DD had great fun looking for basketless shoppers!

[STRIKE]EDIT: SORRY MODS< THOUGHT I WAS ON THE DISSCUSISON THREAD, Could you move it for me please?[/STRIKE]

    I did it!!

I've posted it on the misprices thread, but wanted to show people something:

OK, it clearly states 2 for £2.20 on that box, yet the offer does not work on any combination of these cereal bars. How hard can it be to make sure that offers printed on the actual product work? Especially when it's an own brand product, too! That offer isn't a sticker - it's actually printed on the box! Do you get two boxes for £2.20? Do you heck as like. £2.50 is what you'll be charged - £1.25 per box is the normal price. How many people bought these yesterday and didn't spot that the multibuy failed to come off? This is a definite case where the till price is the wrong price. So, every extra 30p taken on these bars for a failed multibuy is profit.
Actually the till price is correct....the price per single is £1.25 and you are charged £1.25 for every single item that you buy. What doesn't happen is that the discount that should be triggered when you buy two isnt triggered...hence the overcharge.

How hard is it....from a stores point of view its a pain in the backside because the offer which should be applied centrally has not been and therefore each individual store that stocks these items has to set the offer up locally. It makes no difference if the product is a Tesco one or a McVities one, the same process has to be put in place. Agree with the extra profit bit though.

Just one question for you munt...bearing in mind that I KNOW when the offer finished, how did you manage to spot it so quickly?

When I say the till price is wrong, I meant the discount doesn't kick in (no multibuy on a multibuy product). I don't expect the store to spot it. Price updates are done by HO. I expect HO to be on top of it, not the stores. To me, this is yet another example of HO incompetence. I think that it being an own brand product does make a difference in terms of perception. From a marketing point of view, it looks worse if Tesco can't sort out multibuys on their own label products. To customers, it looks unprofessional.

I only spotted it because I saw someone getting a refund on some yesterday! :p
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Ok - so you are a newbie - your post count is 4.

To get a ban you must have been seriously hammering away at R&R activity - but your post count is 4.

So for 6 months you have been lurking noting misprices from here - your post count is only 4.

So you have given nothing to this community - taken everything - now you have a problem and want some help?

Your post count is still 4.

I have not found any new R&Rs but have posted on other threads when I felt I had new information to offer.
I am not suprised by your reaction but I honestly I have not been able to post on here even when I wanted to

The interesting thing about the pyschology of the Internet is the amount of information people will just accept as being the truth.

How do you know Constantine is male or female......

Unless you have met him/her/it you can never ever be 100 percent sure.

You could be a 'Dudette' as well, hiding your gender so 'they' can't recognise you.

Until I remembered that she could well be a he and a 17-stone geordie homoooooosexual...........

    Dude

    PS I'm sure she isn't though ;)
