When I R&R for a definite item I use cash and my clubcard. The usual scenario is :
C/S check SEL, check item, scan item, fiddle on computer telling it why the refund, ( I asked ), sometimes write o/c against offending items on the till receipt, give me the cash and the goods, & off I go.
I have never been asked for my clubcard when doing this.
My question is, could Mr T track the transaction & me in this instance. After all 10 other people could've bought the same item around the same time, & as it was a cash transaction, it could have been anyone who claimed an R&R.

No, they could not.
Does this mean that all R&Rers could avoid a Tesco's 'record of abuse' as it has been called, & get to keep their clubcard points using this system?0 -

Surely that would depend on whether the transaction number, etc, from the receipt had been noted. Is it not possible to link up a specific transaction number to a clubcard if a clubcard has been used.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

After reading that Guardian article about the info they can glean from clubcards, I wouldn't be surprised if they knew your favourite sex position.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

They usually only ask for the receipt to check you've bought the goods, & sometimes mark the overcharge. I've never had any C/S bod scrutinize the rest of the receipt, or make notes about it on their computer slip.0 -

The time involved in trying to do that is prohibative. If someone was determined enough, I suppose they could jump in a car and follow you home. But that is unlikely to happen either.
Depends what you are doing I suppose. r & r on a book or a box of chocs is very different to clearing the shelves and filling your trollyWho or what was I before you came in to my life

I've seen CS take down the till number, cashier number and transaction number before now. It all depends on the CSA and the store. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

HO is even doing it. I know of a certain person who has been refused a rather large refund due to being given a refund on an Xbox 360 last month. HO refused the refund this week on the basis that he was abusing the policy. They looked through his purchase history and refund history to come to this conclusion. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Not forgetting those CS bods who insist on photocopying the receipt, of course.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0
