  • DON'T get me started on marketing!!

Obviously i don't know how everting works but surely its a simple matter in the case of the meat anyway for the "SHELF STACKER" to check the price per kilo on the pack against the one on the SEL when refilling? Or is that not how it works?

Anyway, thanks to all for your replies, i'm off to bed now.....early start

......it’s just that this one seems so incompetent at pricing. Longton BTW

I was passing Stoke today so called in and had a pleasant time, met several of the CS staff who generously - and correctly - gave me back most of the amount I'd just spent in their store!

Sorry I live so far from there, didn't find anything at Meir though.

Thought i'd have a look in store on Bradford Rd, (think you are local to that area) I got the cranium game X 2. Also Medium chickens were stickered up at £1.95 kilo, but SEL £1.79 so grabbed a couple of those. Got R&R but they took SEL off and CS told supervisor it was happening again.

I have come across only 1 really unpleasant CS person - he actually jumped up and down and threw a worse tantrum than my small grandson when he had to give me some free meat. A couple of others have been a shade shirty about doing the business but mostly the staff have been polite and professional and most have been reasonably friendly and chatty.

However, I was a bit taken aback by a CS person today. She was fine about refunding my choccie bars (out of date multibuy SEL) but I didn't like her treatment of an elderly lady who was trying to get a couple of of bars out of the same box when we went back to look at the SEL. The oldlady was in the CS persons way so she asked her to move, took the offending SEL of the shelf and then helped the old lady to get 2 bars out of the box ! She then stood and continued her conversation with me as the old lady started to wander off and pick up 2 more bars of different choccie that had a correct multi buy SEL. The old lady obviously thought she was getting all her chocolate at a bargain price and I said to the CS woman ' she's going to be overcharged too - you should tell her'. She heard me but just glared at me and I had to say it again in a very loud voice. The old dear turned round to see what the fuss was and it was only then that the CS person told the old lady that those bars were not on offer. The old lady was clearly puzzled but she put them back on the shelf and chose some different ones.

I thought it was a bit sharp practice to knowingly let an old lady buy something when the CS woman KNEW the offer was out of date and the customer had been mislead by an old offer.

Also, I reckon that there is a bit of sharp practice going on with Jacobs Biscuits for Cheese boxes. They were on a special offer yellow SEL up to 24/10 at £2.99 each/buy 2 for £5. Now thats expired they are on sale at £2.49 each - which is cheaper than the supposed multibuy special price.

  • Hello,
am an r&r virgin but i like to give everything ago and my local Tesco has a scanner - its not huge but it has DVDs etc.

I take it its best to pay with cash and not to use a clubcard?

Do you buy the goods then go over to CS or wait a day?

    Thanks
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something
  • better to pay in cash
