Paid and then went to cs, to be told that now on prepacked meat, the price on the shelf is irrelevant.

So I asked for head office number and called them. They called the store and according to the guy that called me back there was no overcharge - the labels matched the packs???

What utter nonsense - you've been done up like a kipper!

"The price on the shelf is irrelevant" - I think Trading Standards would disagree with this statement.

Is the Tesco Price Promise irrelevant? No.

Is the CS who dealt with you a twonk? Yes.

It looks like the conversation between CS and HO was a load of waffle - they appear to have lied.

Lick your wounds and then go back again for some R&R action - if you get the same scenario then I suggest that you explain to HO what has happened and ask them if you have been overcharged.

They will say 'yes' - then tell the CS what HO have said and hand the phone over.

I got the champagne and chocs today in bradford, one of the boxes was very cleverly positioned infront of the display carton but when i lifted the box off to have a closer look(like u do), i noticed the £18 on the carton, CS very busy so i very kindly offered to take a pic of the carton so it is still there on the shelf. R&R no probs.

Sounds similar to 'that label covers us against meat price overcharges/refunds' twaddle doesn't it?
Seems like Mr T's staff are coming up with any old excuse to avoid having refunds for misprices on their reports. Don't want their legs smacked cos they can't keep abreast of the price changes eh?

Press the print screen key (PrtSc)...usually on the right side of the keyboard.
    open microsoft word
click edit then choose paste from the drop down menu.
    tata... print it

YAY I got my first R+R!!!

It was on some organic sirlon steaks,SEL had £14.92 per kg and on the packet it had £16.98kg(I think it`s kg?) Paid my £8.20 at the till for 2 Packs of the steak and went to CS.I had to go with the young lady to show her.She didn`t have clue what I was on about so got a manager, who still didn`t have a clue so got another manager over and they were hummmmmming and haaaaaaaaing, then I heard the words "over charged".At this time I was at the stage of going to wee me pants with excitement and one of the managers said "It`ll have to be a full refund"
My eyes lit up like a lighthouse, could of blinded someone!

So off I tottled with the CSA for my refund, she gave me it no problem but was trying to hold on to my steaks! So I just politely asked for them back and she grunted at me whilst handing the goodies over.

I still feel excited and have looked at those steaks a million times.

It certainly gives you a right buzz when you get your first R+R,just hope it`s the same if I ever get another one.

They did remove the SEL straight away.

Well done......yes you still get the buzz, the bigger the RandR the bigger the buzz.

Word of advice though......always go with the CS to look at the SEL.....this way they cant "steal" it, and say "its not there".

  • Words of advice, after seeing a post decided to try my luck with the tumble drier SEL 119, someone else got charged ?£179?

No such luck went through at 119 - point is i needed a tumble drier anyway. Spotted that there are barcodes on the pices of paper inside the plastic and another one stuck on the polystyrene - could be the paper ones scan higher??
    Possible worth a try.

Anyway, after this off we went to a few more local(ish) stores and had a great day as we have only been r&ring for a week now.:

    4x Smoked Haddock
1 Free range chickens (fifth this week)
    2x healthy living chicken breasts

and the golden prize at last a DAB Radio - wish we had picked up two now.

That means thanks to tesco's R&R policy another £15 of stuff and i'll have made up the price of the tumble drier - only problem is that i'll need to buy a bigger freezer now :T

    lo all,

had some luck today with mispriced chickens and pork chops bought 3 chickens a 3 lots of lamb chops got a full refund but had to give back 1 lot of chops and 1 chicken due to bulk purchasing, is this a common thing as i had never heard it before, i saw a a4 page printed up behind the CS desk saying only 2 of any item, but seems they only enforce this in a R&R circumstance as its not likely they will jump on you as you head out the door with more than 2 of anything else thats not mispriced.

But all in all can't complain £30 of free meat is still good :)

  • Hi my DH and I have just been thinking.
when did people first start to r&r not just one off refunds but proper premeditated excurtions?
how long has tesco had this loverly policy?
who has r&r ed the most value of goods?
