cheers will let you know how I get on?
  • I can hear CSAs around the country singing:

Edited so as not to label ALL CSAs as robots.

Unlikely. Today's robots come equipped with some artificial intelligence.

    A quick question!

Been to tesco this morning and in the electrical dept they had these tiny little cadgets, cant for the life of me remember what they were but they were near the cameras.Noticed they had a yellow SEL for £79,but looked more closer at the SEL and it says offer ends 25.06.06?

If I did buy one and was charged more would I of still been able to get the R+R with the SEL being that far out of date?

To be honest I`m not sure how the out of date ones still work on the R+R.

I`m still an R+R virgin and are desperate to get that cherry popped!

I feel deprived, everyone has gotten a R+R but not me yet

  • sometimes expired offer yellow SELS are left up because the offer is extended, so with a SEL that far out of date, it would be better to check on a scanner first, if it was more than the advertised price on the SEL, yes you would be entitled to an R&R but be warned the CS may put up a fight for it, or not as the case may be.

Not quite sure what it is you've spotted - do let us know...

...But yes if it scans higher than £79 you have a bang to rights R&R.

If CS give you a problem just ask "So where is the correct price for this item displayed please?"

As they stutter and shuffle point out the Price Promise and the fact there is no reference in that final, glorious and sexy paragraph to expired dates on SELs....

  • Really bad day today. Spotted healthy living chicken breasts (2 pack)
sel 10p cheaper per kilo than pack and spare rib chops sel about 50p per kilo cheaper than pack.
Paid and then went to cs, to be told that now on prepacked meat, the price on the shelf is irrelevant.
So I asked for head office number and called them. They called the store and according to the guy that called me back there was no overcharge - the labels matched the packs???
After all of this went to petrol station and handed over myfuel card, only to receive snidy comments went it didn't swipe and then the girl told me she wouldn't put my payment through unless I had my mileage (which I never normally give), so I had to go back to the car and get it.
She then told me to order a new fuel card, to which I replied I have but it hasn't come through yet. She responded by saying I am the messenger in a sarcastic voice.
Sorry to waffle, but I'm so fed up with tesco today - some customer service!

I suggest you make a formal written complaint to Tesco CS about the store clearly lying to them and copy it to your local Trading Standards Officer and ask TS to investigate their deliberate mispricing and lying.
In future when you got with the CS assistant to check on the misprice why not take a picture of the SEL with your mobile and if they get uppity say "sorry, but I have to do this because the last time your staff lied to me". Guaranteed to wind them up, but great fun anyway.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.

Want to thank everyone for this thread. Got my first ever R&R today - and went looking for it as a result of reading this thread. I got tomorrow's roast dinner free - 2 pork sage and onion stuffed chickens. SEL £1.99 p/kg - and chickens marked up as £2.19 p/kg. No hesitation from customer services in giving a full refund for both which totally £7.97

Maybe I'll be braver next week and try for more:rotfl:
