You are then given the item and financial compensation (set at the level of the value of the goods) for Tesco's illegal overcharging you.
After the R&R you own goods you have paid for, therefore you have every right to return them under the 28 day policy Tesco offers (one of the reasons you chose to originally shop in Tesco's) if you are not happy/change your mind about the goods.
There is no double refund. You have your cash returned to you, Tesco's have their goods back. Yes you also have your original compensation for Tesco's original criminal act.
I don't know how to explain this any simpler)

R&R! Lowest price advertised must be the price they charge.0 -

Got 20 of these last weekend.
Look at the Dividers, A4 Document Slips and Maths Sets as well.
If asked why so many, just say 5 kids just gone back to school ;-)
If they say it is only a penny say every little helps, the displayed price is either right or wrong, whether it is wrong by a penny or a pound.0 -
Plushchris wrote:Thats just it, none of us really know if we are being watched or not as we trot up and down scanning items and putting stuff back while the security greasers stand at their little video control thingy.
I do wonder how many crimes go unnoticed by these twerps, I mean, they're either watching people R&Ring or chatting up the pretty girl on the Kiosk/Lottery counter. Never actually seen them doing anything else..
Oh hang on, saw one stocking shelves once!
You are right about not knowing wether or not you are being watched, add to that the fact that the security guard is primarily at the front as a preventative measure - and almost certainly isnt the only guard instore, visible security and all that (i'm sure mcdonag will agree that a visible security guard is better than none at all). I would be interested to know how long you spend watching the security guards at the front of the store in order to be able to say that they spend all their time watching people r&ring or chatting up the staff. Once again another sweeping statement that really adds nothing to the discussion but insult...Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

D pointed out above, if so then you are entitled to protection under regular consumer protection law. I still don't think it's as clear cut as you make out though because you have already had your cash returned under the R&R policy. Anyway, so long as it's a grey area, no one is going to arrest leadhead. Which I'm beginning to think is a bit of a shame (tee hee - sorry, leadhead I couldn't resist
)
I would argue that is not your cash, it is Tesco's bribe/compensation not to raise the matter with Trading standards.
Tesco's still has your original cash and you have their goods that they sold you.
So you can then return the goods for a refund of your original payment under their 28 day policy.
Noticed last night that CS have Store Locator Booklets that allow R&Rers to better plan R&R Expeditions to remote areas ;-)
Going on one this evening - a champagne and chocolate quest, possibly an MP3 or Dab Radio or two (perhaps even 5 or 6, well Xmas is coming) as well to put the cherry on the cake.0 -

As I said in my OP it's not the ethics I'm interested in, I'm simply not very experienced in R&R and am interested to know what is legitimate, which I think means this is the appropriate thread. What gives leadhead? Are you always this grumpy or have I just touched a raw nerve with this particular subject matter???
According to the moderators of this thread............this type of discussion is not within "misprices".
For this purpose and to avoid this thread being closed down, and continued temporary locking because of discussions like this...........a seperate thread was opened.
The correct thread is the ethics thread, a link was given to it in your quote my me, in your original post.
I have no nerves re this subject, I've had over £1500 cash back for unwanted goods, and some excellent exchanges....where I wasnt confident enough to take an "already refunded" receipt in with my goods.....The confidence bit comes from the fact that snarling CS and Duty Managers possibly dont understand my rights under their 28 day rule policy, and I cant be bothered to try and convince them as I have "far bigger fish to fry".......
I think all the contibuters to this discussion will agree with my above statement, re the correct thread.
As for being grumpy....well yeh...........I got 12 bottles of Champagne last week........been out this morning after another champagne price rise, and got none.....but realised I could have had loads yesterday......dohhhhhhhCouponing....."every little hurts"

Leadhead has no greater or lesser rights on this thread or website than you.
The 'ethics thread' was created by one of the R&R regulars to try and re-direct discussion about subjects they did not want to discuss on the discussion thread. They have/had no right to tell you what you can discuss or not and where you can discuss it. There are basically 2 Tesco threads, one for short and snappy mis-prices, and this one for discussion.
Just ignore all this 'go to the ethics thread' bullying.
Rubbish.....ask RedfoxCouponing....."every little hurts"

forgot to say, weird happening today with a lady at CS in front of me, she'd bought a bag of walnuts, cracked one open to find a handwritten note inside saying that she was the lucky winner of a prize and to go to her nearest Tesco to claim it....scruffy bit of paper and handwritten so a fake note...
Why would somebody do that?0
