We did this thoroughly on the ethics thread about a fortnight ago I believe.

This thread isnt for ethics, if you wish to go onto the ethics thread to "go over it again"....I'm sure the contributers then will respond again....but it might be far easier if you just read all the posts on that thread.

Constantine is a Tesco Employee in a management position......so his opinions above (although his, and in no way Tesco's policy) must carry a lot of water.
What are the ethics of you being so bossy? ;) This thread is called "Tesco misprice discussion area". I reckon this constitues a discussion. I apologise for my tardiness but I read your posts for the first time today so was not able to 'discuss' beforehand :p

I agree with rozeepozee. On what grounds are "second" refunds being claimed? I doubt that the truth - "I would rather have the money" - constitutes a sufficient right to the money.

A refund is a return of money paid - if nothing has been paid for the goods, then what are you asking to be returned? This is fraud, plain and simple.

Tesco's have a 28 day returns policy......Which goes something like....

If you change your mind within 28 days, we are happy to refund or exchange the product, providing you have your receipt and the product is returned as sold.

Please go to the ethics thread to discuss this further.....as this is the misprice discussion thread
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • I see no problem in getting another refund.. end of the day as someone mentioned before..they will resell to someone else anyway and have the money back.. would understand if they throw the item away...

But knowing Tescos they'll probably overcharge on exactly the same item again...haha

I'm not being a troll, just genuinely curious. Please don't shout at me. As I said in my OP it's not the ethics I'm interested in, I'm simply not very experienced in R&R and am interested to know what is legitimate, which I think means this is the appropriate thread. What gives leadhead? Are you always this grumpy or have I just touched a raw nerve with this particular subject matter???

I can see where you're coming from. I'm just not sure it's technically correct to suggest you can have a 'refund' on an item which has not been paid for...? What exactly is being 'refunded'?

The item has been paid for !

You are then given the item and financial compensation (set at the level of the value of the goods) for Tesco's illegal overcharging you.

After the R&R you own goods you have paid for, therefore you have every right to return them under the 28 day policy Tesco offers (one of the reasons you chose to originally shop in Tesco's) if you are not happy/change your mind about the goods.

There is no double refund. You have your cash returned to you, Tesco's have their goods back. Yes you also have your original compensation for Tesco's original criminal act.

I don't know how to explain this any simpler

This is a discussion thread, so please feel free to discuss.

Leadhead has no greater or lesser rights on this thread or website than you.

The 'ethics thread' was created by one of the R&R regulars to try and re-direct discussion about subjects they did not want to discuss on the discussion thread. They have/had no right to tell you what you can discuss or not and where you can discuss it. There are basically 2 Tesco threads, one for short and snappy mis-prices, and this one for discussion.

Just ignore all this 'go to the ethics thread' bullying.

This post is abusive and out of order !

The so called Ethics thread has no official MSE standing, it is not an official thread, please remember that. You use it if you want to, but stop trying to bully others.

You should be out there shafting Tesco's anyway, feeding off the giant snouter at every opportunity.
  • where do you stand eg where stationery on the box says £1.96 and the pack price + sel is £1.97

    and they charge £1.97
    £2051.50 since Oct 25 2006 ;) Make mine a Golden £143.46 :D

    I love Leadhead :D:D
