Is Constantine a manager at any store in particular, or is he manager at a branch of Tesco's !? If Tesco's then he is very helpful!

She is a Tesco store manager but she wont tell us which store

I usually agree with everything you say dude, but I know the security staff watch people, I've had one say to me he had been watching me and knew exactly what I was up to.

I guess checking SELs thoroughly and checking the prices of stuff then putting them back looks suspicious to these "security" guards.

Where do they find their security staff from? Is it me or are they all funny looking?

I've seen spotty teenagers, lanky, greasy, beanpole types, one that looks like a cross between Santa and the dwarf from Lord of the rings and one that looks like Trevor McDonalds dad.

None of which made me feel very "secure"

    Morning Walter.

Fair comment - concede that if you are in a particular store's radar and are pinged when you enter, you will get some attention.

But my Jewish friend, I've been in the game a while - when the heat is on, I'll leave that store alone for a while - this Dude has never been followed by security - I think.....

    The Dude

PS I've observed a nerdy security guy actually watch the front of store alarms go off and blush as he shuffled on the spot as he pretended not to notice it....

Hmm this little spat caught my eye. I'm going to be a bit of a legal dweeb and muscle in on your discussion here if that's ok? I'm not making any judgments on the ethics of it, just trying to look at it objectively from a legal standpoint. This isn't my area of expertise by the way so I'm trying to remember my contract/consumer law from many years ago at law school.

Your statutory rights are that you are entitled to a refund if you are sold the item at a price greater than that at which you contracted to buy it.

The refund policy has nothing to do with Statutory Rights. There is no advantage gained from taking the product back for a second refund, as Tesco takes ownership of the product. It's a straight forward swap (product for cash value of said product) with no advantage gained by the person claiming the refund and no loss made by Tesco. The first refund has nothing to do with the second refund. They are entirely separate issues.

Constantine is male, by the way. He's not a store manager. He's a manager, though. There are lots of managers in each Tesco. One for each section, plus Food and Non-Food, etc, etc. You've got ATMs, Team Leaders, people on Options, etc, etc. Right at the very top of the food chain, you've got the Store Manager - you'll rarely see that person, though. ;) You'd be amazed at the heirarchy within a single Tesco store!

I think we could probably narrow it down to the ones where the staff have been seen with lists printed out from the misprice thread and going round checking the prices on the products mentioned. ;)

Having said that, even if I found out what store Constantine is involved with, I wouldn't go R&R'ing there - (Al Murray, pub landlord voice) would be like taking stuff off yer own flesh and blood :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Thats just it, none of us really know if we are being watched or not as we trot up and down scanning items and putting stuff back while the security greasers stand at their little video control thingy.

I do wonder how many crimes go unnoticed by these twerps, I mean, they're either watching people R&Ring or chatting up the pretty girl on the Kiosk/Lottery counter. Never actually seen them doing anything else..

Oh hang on, saw one stocking shelves once!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Unless you visit a store that has one of those pictures up on the wall in the entrance with a smug looking photo of the store manager in it.

Ive just sent a letter to the Store manager of my local Ts, I hope its him that reads it and not one of his lackies. I'll soon see, I've asked a few questions that hopefully a lacky wont want to answer on their own!

I meant you'll rarely see him or her in person! :p Saying that, some Store Managers are more hands on than others. I've yet to deal with a store manager as a customer. I have done in my professional capacity, however.

  • If I dont use my clubcard but use my debit card can they trace me via there for doing r n r as I never have cash on me?

Has anyone ever taken anything back that they already have an r n r for? I.e:Purchase an item, obtain R n R (keep item)till receipt not marked up as "refund"and then returned it for a refund? Just wondering as I got a game and my godson didnt have a PSP he has a GBA (got wrong model)and wanted to get different game or money back as receipt wasnt marked refund.

    Thanks
