spa2k where do you hire these managers from. Are they having a less than half price sale in ASDA, to get rid of the ones they don't want ?Or 25% off all managers, this DOES apply to discontinued lines.
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

It's no wonder there are mess-ups galore, as new and old stock, come in, and the price changes back and forth every couple of weeks.
Sure it makes for headline offers, but you can't complain, if it's continually messed-up by this marketing tactic, as this tactic does not go hand-in hand with long term pricing integrity.
1. I don't complain
2. I was referring to the number of errors that people consistantly say happen more in tesco than elsewhere yet no one has concrete figures to back up.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

The plain fact is that despite what is posted here most customers contact with management at Tesco is a pleasant one. People rarely complain about good service yet will nearly always mention the bad.
In no way am i defending poor customer service, there can be no excuse for it however as i have said before, (and this is not aimed at carolannjo) attitudes are often reflective. No manager comes into work and thinks "how many customers can i upset today?"Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

I bet ASDA ain't forking out thousands a week in misprices, what more evidence is required. I know they only give the £2, but the approach they have does result in less errors. For example, variable weight products are as priced per item, they don't get the headline £2 off per kilo on a big label like MR T's but they don't get the error caused by a items not matching the Kg price. Go and see for yourself, that eliminates, a large error precentage straight away.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

I suppose being sold to MR T's for less than half price isn't too great on the CV. But better than being sold from Mr T's at less than half price. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

The fact is that as others dont offer the same policy people are nowhere near as aggressive about finding misprices in other retail establishments and therefore can throw random accusations regarding others being better or worse yet have no proof whatsoever to offer.
We've never REALLY got to the bottom of exactly WHY Tesco continue with this policy when none of the others do (Asda did it for a while but scrapped it, I wonder why?). No matter which side of the fence you sit here, I truly believe no-one can say Tesco do things out of the goodness of their heart, they are a very successful (and some would suggest ruthless business), so can you, spa2k or indeed constantine, debunk or back up my long-held belief that this policy continues at tesco because it HAS to. I don't recall either you or Constantine ever commenting on this point when I have raised it before, not even to debunk it. You must have SOME idea if I am talking rubbish or not.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

As i have stated before, several posters have said that there isnt the same amount of misprices in other supermarkets yet there is NO concrete evidence to support that. How many people that go actively searching for misprices in tesco because they will get the item free will do the same in Asda because they will get £2 or in Sainsburys because they will get the difference?
The diligence that people show in Tesco simply wont be shown to the same degree in other establishments as the incentive is not there.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Just been reading a few pages of this thread and I am quite shocked that people actaully go out of their way to get item & refund. Fair enough if you do your shopping and notice that something is wrong but to actually go in 'looking' for these products is pretty dodgy! It is as good as stealing. Yes tescos should be more careful but EVERY store is like that. I used to work in a supermarket and there was misprices all the time, it's the same everywhere. What will happen is tescos will stop this policy because people are being greedy and then everyone loses out. RANT OVER.... so how are we all today?!!You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
