Going on the Irish Govt's findings, it is not fantasy to allege  that half of Tesco's profit could come from overcharges!*

    * The Irish Govt. found that an average of 3% overcharge on each trolley of shopping happened when they sent undercover agents to do their shopping at Tesco Ireland. Tesco's UK divison's T/O in the last 6 months was £17.4 billion and profits just under £1.1 billion. Do the maths.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

    LOL :rotfl: :rotfl:

A couple of times in the last few weeks my trolley has consisted of 100% overcharges!

    Outragous!

Its the overcharges on the regular stuff that gets my goat (like the soup/meat/beer etc) especially when the overcharge is pointed out (in the way of a R&R) and STILL nothing is done about it.

I even had an incident last week where the offending SEL was removed after being pointed out AND PUT BACK AGAIN 30 SECONDS LATER RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!

Fair enough this could just be human error and not part of some grand plan, but surely there should be some better training etc for staff regarding dealing with mis-prices?

The soup thing is another one, if the big POS was taken down fair enough, but no, it was left up to continue misleading people. The CS guy just didnt seem bothered by the fact I said I found it misleading!

I'm still of the opinion that they should have contacted every person who purchased an Xbox 360 and GOTW with a clubcard (i.e. very easily traceable!) who didn't get the £20 discount but didn't complain/notice and 'do the right thing' by them. The fact that they don't appear to have done this is shocking in the extreme - they have knowingly overcharged customers and have, it seems, done nothing about it.

One of the best posts I've read on here in a while.

They know about all of the most notorious misprices at Head Office level as they read them on here, by their own admission.

They've proved they're more than capable of investigating customers by trawling back through months of Clubcard records and store records in order to orchestrate petty little witchhunts, but they won't do the same to make amends for all their criminal offences of overcharging.

The amount of man hours they spent investigating my spending history was considerable, and this time could have been spent doing what Clasics suggests above.

It blows Tesco's flimsy defence of "reasonable diligence" completely out of the water, which is all they could cling on to if TS brought a prosecution against them. They knew they'd overcharged people, knew who they'd overcharged in most cases, but made absolutely no attempts to give them their money back, and decided they'd keep it instead. Brilliant!

I'm quite annoyed now by the fact I was lied to by Kevin Kelly when I spoke to him regarding the R&R on my PSP, I (foolishly) used my clubcard and when he asked me to email/fax my receipt I said "but I used my clubcard cant you see by that?"

He said no, they cant get details off a clubcard about purchases made!

Didnt occur to me at the time that its how they tailor the offer vouchers that come with the CC vouchers.

I cant believe the crap they come out with sometimes!

Yes, he's told me similar lies. I'm annoyed too.

I shop online with Tesco once a month and when you click on "My favourites" it brings up a list of everything you've bought in store over the past week or so.

Do the self scanners let you know if they are on special aswell then, or just give you the basic price

Did my first r&r last night, read on here and thought i'd have a look around my local tesco.

Saw a cd (gwen stefani album) didnt really want it but thought i needed to try this r&r out, yellow sticker saying £6.93, the SEL was 9.97

price checked then paid at self serve, then went to electrics CS

    "Hi, been overcharged on this"

ok i'll refund then charge you the right amount

"no, isn't it your policy that I get a refund and keep the cd for free"

oh yes, here you are, he asked me to write down my name and address on a bit of paper though, this normal?

Any one from Tesco confirm the bulk policy on buying and refunding?

You might be interested in an earlier post. It seems that once they had taken the advice of their legal department, Tesco Dundee (actually Sir Terry) sent an unsolicited gift card and promised to retrain their CS staff.

If it worked for me, it should apply to everyone!

I bought the SLVR L7 - only a white SEL showing , with no indication of if 10% was off or not. Got R&R in one store but not another - so kept anyway and intend to take up with HO CS. Did anyone have similar rejection and were they successful with HO CS and if so, what line did you take with them??? Hope this makes sense!

BTW, the 'refusal' store let me keep the white SEL!
