Becky - I suggest you let slip the dogs of war and give them some SERIOUS stick.

Drinking white wine with steak is no longer uncouth - latest thinking in the food/drink fraternity is that one should drink the wine one likes. Besides, if like me you like your steak coated in cracked black pepper, pan fried with mushrooms, green peppers and garlic, then gently sauteed in single cream until you have a rich sauce, then white wine goes with it better. (Along with sauteed potatoes and green beans :D:D:D )

BTW - In the Bicester Tesco yesterday (town centre, not the Village one) there was someone checking every meat pack and SEL against her machine. DAMN these people are good :(
Definately a seventies man you eh? You forgot to add some brandy to that sauce.

Does that mean they will be installing one of those Tesco-patented 'wobbly' first floors? :D

I hope so, "you are aproaching the end of the escelator please take care" :T
  • Why not just return the xbox for a refund wait for the cheque to come you will have the money to go buy another and a different game you may want?

Ditto which I did today (erm yesterday now) and got the £280 back, now Toys r Us doing a xbox with 3 games and controller for £300 :D

Somehow I don't even think I am going to see that cheque, but then I might - just can't take that risk now...

This is a misprice but with a twist!!

Single packs of maltesers, revels, flakes etc on offer at 3 for 99p (39p each) but go through at £1.17 as the discount doesnt come off.
Please read the rest of this before trying this out.

The reason i said can someone explain as very confused is because i was in my tescos store today at customer service waiting for a refund on something which was faulty. While waiting, a young boy and girl were taking back 3 bars of chocolate and apologised for doing so ( ) but explained they had been overcharged. I noticed that they had 2 bags of maltesers and 1 bag of revels. The customer service women refunded them the £1.17 and gave them the choc.

Now i had already done my shopping, but i always queue and get 2 scratchcards from the tobacco kiosk section. I noticed all the chocolate underneath (and they had the 3 for 99p signs) and thought mmmmm!!! some free choccy coming my way :D
So i picked up 2 maltesers and one revels (to match what they had) and also 3 flakes (also in the offer). Paid for them with the scratchcards and guess what, they went through at 3 for 99p.

Im very confused, how can this be? Do you think maybe the main tills are set up different to the tobacco kiosk till? I have no idea.
All the years ive shopped with Tesco and all ive ever had r&r is 2 bits of cheese. Thought i was in for some yummy choc. Oh well, never mind.
  • Morning people,

Was in shopping last night at my local store and was 'overcharged' on some chocs and champagne x 4. On going to CS desk and mentioning this the chap checked with management and told me i could only refund 2 and they would match the price on the other two. I said no wasnt happy with that and asked for the manager. Manager repeated that and mentioned the bulk buying policy, wasnt quick enough (or sharp enough) to think i had already bought them making that argument void. So got refund on two and matched the other two and phoned CS services 2 minutes ago and she took my details (AARRGGHHHH, didnt want to give her them, will be on file now i imagine) and will 'investigate' and phone me back this morning.

    Any tips folk?

  • Once upon a time, in a nice little forest, there lived an orphaned bunny
and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both were blind from
    birth.
One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the snake was
slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake and
    fell down.
"Oh, my," said the bunny, "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.
I've been blind since birth, so, I can't see where I'm going. In fact,
since I'm also an orphan, I don't even know what I am." It's quite ok, "replied
the snake." Actually, my story is as yours. I too have been blind since
birth, and also never knew my mother. Tell you what, maybe I could slither
all over you, and work out what you are so at least you'll have that going
    for you."
"Oh, that would be wonderful" replied the bunny. So the snake slithered
all over the bunny, and said, "Well, you're covered with soft fur, you
have really long ears, your nose twitches, and you have a soft cottony tail.
I'd say that you must be a bunny rabbit."
"Oh, thank you, thank you," cried the bunny, in obvious excitement.
The bunny suggested to the snake, "Maybe I could feel you all over with my
paw, and help you the same way that you've helped me." So the bunny felt
the snake all over, and remarked, "Well, you're smooth and slippery, and
you've a forked tongue, no backbone and no balls. I'd say you must work
    on customer services at Tescos!

Sorry to all you nice Cs advisors... pretty much aimed at one of my locals..good old Western Avenue Cardiff!!

The whole "bulk buy" thing is a complete load of tosh.

You should have said if the bulk buy policy is four items why do they do a discount on six bottles of wine as that is over their own bulk buy rule?

I've seen signs up in a couple of stores that look hastily bashed out on the office computer on a plain A4 sheet of paper, I've seen different numbers too, some stores its 6, others 8 and some 12.

The fact is, if there is a bulk buy policy it should be enforced at the checkout, end of story, if they allowed you to buy more, they should honor the policy.

Can you imagine if you bought 20 trays of steak all at the correct price with no intention of R&R (hard to imagine I know but bare with me) would they come running after you as you left the shop saying "excuse me, you have bought more than you are allowed"??

    Would they bo****ks!

I'm still of the opinion that they should have contacted every person who purchased an Xbox 360 and GOTW with a clubcard (i.e. very easily traceable!) who didn't get the £20 discount but didn't complain/notice and 'do the right thing' by them. The fact that they don't appear to have done this is shocking in the extreme - they have knowingly overcharged customers and have, it seems, done nothing about it.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

You could say that about most items though, take the Covent Garden soups for example, the big SEL that stated "2 FOR £2.50" was totally misleading as at least 3 or 4 of the dozen or so flavours didnt trigger the discount. I even had a CS supervisor tell me I should have checked each individual SEL to make sure it was in the offer!

I pointed out I had been misled by the big sign as it did not state there were any exclusions. The CS guy just shrugged his shoulders and said he would let me have the refund "this time"

The sign was left up though so Christ knows how many other innocent shoppers were unknowingly overcharged on this "offer". This seems to be the case with a lot of deals, remember the selection boxes a few weeks ago? Same happened there!
