I have a question about the r&r policy - please see shop but dont drop forum!!

If it is about RandR policy??......it would be much better if you copied and pasted it here.

A little more difficult than the norm.....there should clearly have been a SEL for the 350grm packs...and if these were the only ones on the shelf, and the price of the SEL was £2.85, and hes already admitted overcharging you by giving you a partial refund, I would suggest you go back...as "not being happy" and ask for a full refund under their policy of being overcharged.

Although its against the law to not show a price for an article, your case may rest on whether the £2.85 SEL clearly had the weight on it, or how far this SEL was from the 350gm boxes....Sorry I cant be more specific.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

    Ok

no response there so i'll try here!

So sorry to post here but i have no time! Just been to the tesco express and saw thorntons classic chocs for £2.85. Grabbed 5 and saw that they went through till at £5.18. Went back afterwards and was told that price was for 127 g and not 350 g which is what i bought. Thing is there were no other thorntons chocs on the shelf and no price for the 350 gms. Manager offered me partial refund before I could say anything. He gave me £6.65 back which I now realise means that the chocs still cost me 3.85. I was happy to get the difference back so that they cost £2.85, price I thought I was buying them.

Sending hubby back to see Manager, where do we stand? Shall we just ask for the extra fiver back so that chocs cost £2.85 or are we entitled to them free plus a refund?

    tia!!!!!!!!
    You were overcharged and are entitled to r&r {full refund plus the product}
It's not your fault they put them on the wrong shelves and there was no reason for you to question the signage if it is for the same product the weight indication is too small to be a significant factor in your purchasing decision.

there were very few choc tins in Hudds, maybe the glitch worked there...
  • Pringles didn't work for me in Barnstaple at 3.30pm today, most disappointed as trying to economise and I consider crisps as a luxury. Ah well, better luck next time!!!
  • Just been in to have a go at our first R&R, and found the filofaxes dsplayed in the black boxes as discussed. Prices on the box were £2 less than SEL.

Paid and went to CS, where we were advised that the prices on the box do not count and the SEL is the only price they will honour.

    Surely this isnt fair?

Told the jumped up young manageress that we wanted a refund on our entire shop. 20 mins of standing around, we walked out empty handed but furious.

We are now determined to get whatever R&R we can from now on.

The store seemed really switched on to R&R, loads of staff changing over SEL's and generally checking prices. Didnt feel comfortable with the whole thing, CCTV everywhere so thought we may have been sussed before we went to CS, but maybe im just paranoid??!!

The aberdeen Angus burgers were there, as described, but I was so annoyed with the filofax problem, that we didnt even mention them.

Anyone know the law regarding the filofax boxes versus the shelf edge price??

Nope, they are not part of the 3 for 2 - at least not in my store.
They are located WITH the Xmas 3 for 2, but have a white sel - all the 3 for 2 have yellow sels.
White sel says £14.97, but the black cardboard box they all come in, has £12.97 on it.
After a R&R cs are either removing the filofaxes from the box and just sitting them on the shelf, or scribbling out the £12.97.
BUT, when shelves are re-stocked there is a chance that new box of filofaxes will be put out, with lower price advertised.
SO, if you've had no luck so far, don't dispair - just keep checking to see it they appear in your store, or that the next batch are put out in their box. Unless they change the price at the till this one could be running until Xmas !:D

Just to stress again these filofaxes do not come with their own individual cover/box. They just sit in a cardboard box on the shelves in about 8's or 10's.
They are held together by a matching thick elastic - you will know when you DO see them ;)
I hope this helps those who are struggling to find them.

The law states that if more than one price is shown for an article, then the lowest price shown, must be the highest price charged.

2 for £2.30 pringle sel's only for specific flavours e.g. lights and bbq, not sour cream or scary cheese, in my local today. No champagne, slate drink, filofaxes or stuffed chicken misprices either. Picked up chicken in red pepper sauce pack price £2.7? sel £2.54 but scanned at £2.54. Did manage to get Nigella "how to eat" but all three copies on display were very grubby, also Jacqueline Wilson book for dd's xmas.

Got the tefal 155 aquaspeed iron thanks to a post on misprices £49.99 - £48.88, think this be a misprice in quite a few stores. Also worth checking the green & white Phillips iron as this had 2 prices up, didn't check this though.

Cs offered me the difference until I pointed the big blue board behind her.
  • My post seems to have been removed from the misprice thread so I'll bung it in here. Howdee to everyone, after my lengthy hibernation. Decided a trip to Mr T's was in order, to re-stock the larder for the winter hibernation. As usual total fiasco. Got some lager and books, like taking candy from a baby. Took it easy with the amounts refunds around £35 mark, not bad while I get a feel for the wicket again. Looking at the thread and on the evidence of todays quick visit they still have not got this pricing problem sorted. Anyway, see you soon in a Mr T's near your !! Had a celebratory lager on my return which tasted even better as it was free. :D

P.s might go out on a record breaking attempt sometime this week !! Best hire a van for the day !! ;)
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

I am fuming found the filofaxes today so picked up one. Went to CS she said you have to go on SEL must have put in wrong box said what all the boxes say £12.97 she took them all out of boxes and said I'll give you £2 back. Said its an overcharge she rang manager and he said I could have them for £10. Wouldn't speak to me. So accepted it for £10.
