  • Hi,

I had a look for the pink filofax in my local (is it just plain pink or pink & brown?) and the only ones I could find where ones that didn't have a box. All of the other styles where in the box sleeve thingys but all of the pink ones (I think) had been taken out and a barcode sticker had been put on the back. Are they allowed to do this? Surely its like buying an iron without a box - you just wouldnt walk out of the store with your iron in a carrier bag!

The filofax I got was plain pink, chocolate ones also available.
These filofaxes do not come with a box,
They are stacked in a carton/box, about 8 to a box, and it is
this which shows the price sticker,
most of them have been removed or price scribbled over.
    Hope this helps
    I AM WHAT I AM ;)

The pink filofaxes I had weren't in a sleeve. The price was on the cardboard box they were all in but the individual filofaxes were not in a box or sleeve.

Having been away for a few days and only just got up to speed with reading this thread, here are the Dude's thoughts this evening = take 'em or leave 'em...........

Paranoia - In the immortal words of Mel Gibson you need to "CALM DOWN SON!" - it is now widely recognised that with a Clubcard CS staff can only look at recent transastions from that particular store - but this is not part of the standard R&R procedure.

They can also(and have done with me) print your name and address details out, from just swiping your clubcard at CS.

However - if you plan to write to Sir Terry then you may want to think long and hard about your overall Clubcard usage before putting pen to paper.

The Dude and others have repeatedly advised - don't use a Clubcard for R&Rs - and if you want to hide your id then use cash - but even if you use a card - you can still give a false name - The Dude does - normally Walter or Donny.

You should never give a false name when using any credit card.........as your name is on the card, and the Police could be called, if they believe you are committing fraud(by giving the false name)....Theres no problem giving a false address....as this isnt on the card.

CS Attitude - I've noticed a shift in the last 2 weeks - now it is rare for a CS Dude to offer anything other than an R&R - albeit with a smile or snarl - I know that some Dudes here have said that there has been no 'rocket' from HO - but there does seem to be a shift - a good time for newbies to have a go.

Am I Bovered? At the start of this week I visited about 10 stores - they ranged from nowt to mis-priced goods everywhere - some of you newbies have voiced frustration after just one visit - keep trying - a store on the ball this week doesn't equal the same next week - and this is even more true for individual Departments.

I have literally been to Store X on a Monday - loads of misprices - been back on the Tuesday - nothing - gone back on the Friday - and found more to R&R - you just need to keep trying.

    The Dude Abides.

Must have missed this last night.....agree with most of the post....but strongly disagree with the points, below which, I have given my comments in red.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

A friend of mine is hoping to move from non food to CS soon (although by no means finalised as yet), He/she that although he/she can't get the r&r of themselves, they wouldn't mind passing the information. I actually can't believe a Tesco insider hasn't passed the information on earlier !!

    PS

This week has to be my worst week for r&Rrs !!

So well done Tesco, it seems you have finally got your act together........lets hope that they can't keep it up.

They can't. Funnily enough, this week has been my best week so far. I've had a couple of filofaxes, pringles, meat, soup, quality street, some books, plus four normal overcharges which were a till operator/store mistake rather than a system problem.

Of course, I don't have a very high target to aim at because I've only had one large refund in the past, didn't go near the X-boxes and PSs, and never look at mobile phones.

Perhaps Tesco are concentrating so much on not repeating the games console fiasco that they are missing many of the smaller mistakes? Or perhaps the staff themselves are just fed up with being given the run-around by their supervisors (I hesitate to call them managers)?

Hi, I know we have a scanner location thread but I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there are any working scanners in Western Avenue Cardiff, they've been broken every time I've popped there recently.

My problem is that I have been spoit over the last 5 weeks with a 2 x Xbox, SP, Digital cameras and numerous mobilres. It all seems to have dried up and the small items don't do it for me anymore.

    Nope!

there are always plenty of "DOTCOMMERS" doing the shopping, I tend to ask them! (They are the "nocturnal" looking beasties, pushing the trollies with green crates around)

Should the pink filofaxes be 3 for 2 they have a white label but there are signs all over the section saying christmas gifts 3 for 2. I had R&R anyway but if the price has been removed in your store you might have a case for R&R because they aren't going through 3 for 2.

Nope, they are not part of the 3 for 2 - at least not in my store.
They are located WITH the Xmas 3 for 2, but have a white sel - all the 3 for 2 have yellow sels.
White sel says £14.97, but the black cardboard box they all come in, has £12.97 on it.
After a R&R cs are either removing the filofaxes from the box and just sitting them on the shelf, or scribbling out the £12.97.
BUT, when shelves are re-stocked there is a chance that new box of filofaxes will be put out, with lower price advertised.
SO, if you've had no luck so far, don't dispair - just keep checking to see it they appear in your store, or that the next batch are put out in their box. Unless they change the price at the till this one could be running until Xmas !:D

Just to stress again these filofaxes do not come with their own individual cover/box. They just sit in a cardboard box on the shelves in about 8's or 10's.
They are held together by a matching thick elastic - you will know when you DO see them ;)
I hope this helps those who are struggling to find them.
