felt a bit of an idiot last night.

attempted v v carefully to do my first ever r&r. checked the price through price scan, wasnt greedy, just wanted a book that id bee neyeing up for ages...

when i got CS the lady did big sighs kept saying how she didnt agree with this tescos policy gave me a funny look as if i had done this a million times before etc. etc. she gave me r&r without too much prob but her whole attitude was rather off putting.

is customer service always this bad when doing r&r? i was v polite and apologetic and there wasnt a queue behind me... i think i'll reserve r&rs for smaller things that i fancy the look of.

Don't worry about it, some cs think they own Tesco - others can be really nice, just point out the policy and most will follow it. In my local store I try to only r&r small amounts occasionally and try to do it when different cs are on. Me and OH also take it turns but we haven't resorted to disguises yet. Any comments from cs about the amount of r&r or how many times you've had r&r just say I always check my receipt and I'm shocked at how poorly the items are priced by Tesco staff.
  • sod her, go for something big next time, mention trading standards and ripping off customers. should sort it

Be sure to post the big items though!!, i'll let you know about the small items

personally the smaller items aren't woth the hassle.in my opinion, if you're going to do it-do it big !

    ps

what was your r&r last night?

Its not fair, I'm recognised in my local now for r&r and recognised in Cardiff for forgetting my debit card ;) . Perhaps I should complain to head office about not all the items having sels, particularly entertainment, and say that I'm fed up with having to ask prices all the time.
Do you think the scanners are off deliberatley? Any stores near here with working scanners?

ok i will tell you, hoping that tescos arent tracking every move made my MSE members!!

it was the wagamama ways with noodles cookbook. i had fancied some sirloin steaks but there werent any non yellow sticked packs! i dont think i have the guts to do something big like a tv. as tempting as it is. i lost my copy of 'how to eat' so i might keep a look out for that next time.

You'll find that when you do spot a tv/phone etc temptation may very well overtake nerves - it did with me. ;)
