rainbowrisin wrote:Just a quickie to say a big THANKYOU to the posters on here - I've now got £37 of prime sirloin steak in the freezer and a brand new iron, all courtesy of rnr.
The CS member of staff was extremely reluctant to give me a refund, but the manager said I was entitled to one, whereupon CS staff member said to manager "you're not going to give HER all that meat for NOTHING????" heh, heh, heh, heh, heh....
Well, as they say "every little helps":D
Nice 1 did have a look thru most the steak in my local but all seemed oki think the problem is that there so little of it on the shelf in the first place and misspriced when a offer starts get bought quickly they seem to have tried to cram too much stuff into the space they have since the refurb.

Am I wrong on this ?
Forget the legalities.
Imagine you are Sir Terry and your are told that Monster Deals had the goods - had an R&R - then went back with the same item and the same receipt and asked for another R&R.
Forget the legalities.
I think that Sir Terry will not want you back..............

PS Just trying to present things in a 'reasonable' light - don't want to kick off another legal debate........0 -

Are you quite sure? I was under the impression that Tesco's 28 day refund was over and above your statutory rights, from the Consumer Direct website 'Many shops have goodwill policies that go beyond your statutory rights. For example, some stores allow you to exchange goods that aren't faulty'.
This is a link to the list of statutory rights which aren't affected by the refund policy. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/your-rights/fs_c04.shtmlThere is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

I think this is where the misunderstanding is. Monster Deals never said he went back for another R&R, just a straight refund. For sure, more than one R&R is not on. One R&R followed by a straight refund is okay.

No it's not your statutory rights only allow you a refund if there is something wrong with the product. Tesco do not have to give a refund on something R&R'd, as that is a good will gesture (28 day refund) and not part of your Stat rightsThere is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

Correct
12 x 4 Fosters Lager incorrectly priced.
£39 R&R
Week later took the Fosters back for a refund under the 28 day policy.
So I ended up with no lager but £39 cash.
Saves having to sell the knats !!!!.0 -
Bought a PSP game which was stickered at £13.94. Charged £13.97 at the till so took it to Customer Service who only offered the 3p difference. Called the manager who agreed and said that the policy was purely discretionary and he would do it "if it was 3 or 4 pounds wrong but I'm not going to do it for 3p".
I've emailed CS and Sir terence to ask if it's true whether it's discretionary or not. If they say not I want my game, and if they say it is I'm off to trading standards....0 -

Read the wording of the 28 day policy.
It states something like 'if you are not entirely happy with the goods' you can return them in their original condition for a refund.
I was not 'entirely happy with the goods' because I prefered to have the money.
CS never asked why I was returning the goods.0 -

IMHO no wonder CS get cheesed off. If you are going to take them back why wait a week. Taking the mick. My opinion and i am entitled to it just as you are entitled to take the beer that you didnt really want in the first place back.0 -
If your receipt wasn't marked then I can't see it being an issue, if it was and you got away with it, good luck to you. I don't begrudge anyone the refund, i'm just saying that all the posts saying they HAVE to because it's your stat rights are wrong. The wording on the poster is above and beyond what your statutory rights are, and they do not have to abide by this on items which have been R&R'd.There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0
