Usual troll tripe. Lets hear the details, at least when Perky pops up he tells a story!
"Verdict" you been reading to much Perry mason?0 -
The big one for me is always nearly running out of time at pre-paid car parks, especially in strange towns, when I am not sure of my way back to the car. Been using this free lil app[itunes.apple.com/gb/app/car-compass/id408847799?mt=8] on my iPhone that puts a timer on parking and shows how far away my car is, so now I can get back on time. especially like how I can find my car quickly.
Something that has really annoyed me though recently is my local city has put the on street parking up to 8pm at night - an extra 2 hours! Which is a real pain.0 -
I received a PCN for parking in a red dotted box at 6:40pm in Chelsea one evening. The road referenced on the PCN is wrong as the camera that observed me is on the corner of 2 roads.
How do I appeal this without them sending me a new PCN or changing the orginal.
Do I say that I simply did not park in that road or that I parked in the correct road in a dotted red box?
Please help?0 -
What are the rules for the red dotted box and what sort of vehicle were you driving.
If I remember correctly you are not allowed to "deliver" a fountain pen.
18:40 sounds a bit "rush hour" to me.0 -
My question is more that if they got the wrong road, do I need to say where I was actually parked. The fact is that this notice is simply wrong and they should cancel it but I am not sure what they can do about the fact I was parked in a red dotted box on a weekday evening at 6:40pm. The sign said no stopping at any time except 10-4. Loading Max 20 mins. I have parked here many times in the past without a problem so perhaps they are trying it on because the name of the road is incorrect.0

Your question would get more responses if you start your own thread and/or put it on pepipoo (in a new thread there):

They CANNOT send you a new PCN. A wrong road name is fatal to a PCN.
Please don't reply again here, this is a fairly useless sticky which isn't worth keeping at the top of the forum. Please start your own thread.

I received a PCN the other day. I was parked in a council car park and some of the bays stated they were reserved. I checked all the signs carefully and there was no information about the reserved bays. Above a row of them were details about how much it cost and how long you could stay for so I figured that they must be OK to park in. I have been back and re checked all the signs and there is no information about the reserved bays. Do I stand any chance if I contest the fine?0

Most people can win if they appeal a Council PCN all the way to adjudication (or Councils typically fold at that stage). But you need to know that most people get their initial appeal rejected, seemingly because the Council can...
...but your best chance will be with a specialist forum's help. But please start a new thread, not hijack an existing one like you have here! So, if I were you I would register and start a new topic with a pic of your PCN (both sides!) and a pic of the bay lines & signs in the car park, on pepipoo here:

As I say, the first appeal is a throwaway one as you'd be very lucky to get an acceptance from a Council at the first stage. So if you feel you have a case - and the pepipoo posters help and agree with you - then you may as well go to adjudication. You would only be risking possibly having to pay the full (non-discounted) penalty if you lose, so it's 'all or nothing' by that stage, but with the odds in your favour.
Good luck. BTW it was a PENALTY charge notice (not a Parking Charge)? Only a Penalty Charge is a real Council one.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

hello there. my local council has recently given me a xmas present of gating off where i used to park so i cant park there.
i have found another parking space but its very dodgy as its technically parking on yellow lines:
if the images havent displayed, imagine 3 buildings, the center one goes in slightly (and is a private area) and i park in that small area.
the yellow lines come across as if the building doesnt go in so i actually park on the wrong side of the yellow line.
any help is useful. thank you in advance
(i have realised no new users are allowed to put links but i can send them to someone if they are kind enough)0 -
Yellow line restrictions apply from the centre of the road to the boundary of a property. IE: A house, a wall, a garden, anything, so parking on the nearside of yellow lines wont stop you receiving a parking ticket!
If you want to post a link post the address without the HTTP//0
