Seriously DDFW, you've achieved loads this weekend - it's hardly wasted!
Hope you feel better now though, it's no fun feeling under the weather.
I completely understand where you are with the conversations about money. I recently got really annoyed with someone who made some snidey remarks about how we hadn't done up our house yet. It really annoyed me and I was so angry. I just responded that we would do it in our own time when we've both decided what we want.
It's so rude for people to tell you what you *should* be spending your money on, it's no one's business but your own. As far as I'm concerned though, having a working boiler is much more important than having a holiday, so what planet do they live on? :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Aw thanks jwil
- its nice that you understand - thanks hon x And how rude of those people making comments about your home  Grr!
Its nice of you to say i did lots but really i've not done half of the things that needed doingHave also been rushing round these last 2 nights after work shifting things - and just written a huge list of things that i'll have to get up early to do :eek::eek:

Hope you are feeling better today DDFW. I have a similar problem in that my DH doesn't do a lot around the house. It does make a difference if it's clean and tidy. We don't have people round very often (I'm too embarrassed) but when they do come he does know how I expect it to be so helps more then. The day to day stuff though is mostly done by me.
Hope you manage to get something sorted."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi all
Ok people - a few months back i jotted down various aspects of my life that i wanted to work on. At the moment, and certainly for the next 12months my primary focus has to be tackling the debtOne of the things i planned to do was completely declutter the house cupboard by cupboard, room by room. This was to make the house easier to clean - so everything had a place so was easier to get to and to put back
So with cleaning being quicker this would give me more time to focus on raising more money. The other aspect of this declutter though was to try and source some eb*y items  This will be the last declutter for a long time as i have decluttered so many times i am only keeping what i love or what is useful
Very few items have been found to sell sadly but i have thrown some bits out that were no use for anything and couldn't even be recycled into anything else. I've also taken a few bits to the charity shop
Today i have finished the declutter of my bedroom :T:T:T Leaving 2 rooms to do in december then the whole house has been done and everything in it will have earned its right to stay :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The last 2 rooms are the spare room and the bathroom and there is not too much of my things in these
*i think i'll make a start tomorrow whilst i'm on a roll* :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Glad you had a productive day yesterday DDFW. Hope the garage isn't to
Oh dear to OHs who don't help out around the house. And  to him telling you there wasn't enough food! It is frustrating, I know."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks jwil - yep i'm hoping that the faulty part on the car can be repaired rather than replaced
Today has been a little bit of a spendy day  - i am keeping a spending diary so it'll all be logged- Did spent £2 on £13 worth of food - as i had vouchers :T £4 on lots of chocolate bars - hugely reduced and its handy to have some in and a replacement shower curtain - ours has not lasted at all
£10.01 on petrol - necessary spend - needed it to get to p/t work and to get the car into the garage tomorrow :undecided - biggest spend of all - £7.96 on a little xmas prezzie - reduced by over half price - included in this was a little set of baskets i got too
Just got me my first cuppa of the day :coffee: so will have a perusal of the diaries before i get started on project House Deep Clean part deux :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hope you manage to get OH to give you a hand with the clean up."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hiya DDFW
Men eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What more can we say ::):):):) I am sure his parents know exactly what he is like believe me!
As you say it makes life easier you doing it so maybe its the only way to avoid rows etc. At least you can look at your home and realise the effort and hard work that you have put in and enjoy the result. We have a different set of rules in our house. Since I am the stay at home one I take on board all of the work but I do delegate housework out to the 'kids'. My husband works very very hard and earns an excellent salary so I don't think that he should have household tasks within the home. He is very tidy and clean so it works for us. He is tall whilst I am not and is very good at lifting things down from high places for mini me:):):)
Seriously though if I was to pressurise him into doing housework it wouldn't be worth the hassle to be honest.
