Dedicated, he keeps his money separate from you (e.g. by not telling you how much he earns or where he's going and what he spends on) - why on earth shouldn't you keep your money separate from his, especially if his using your stuff has increased your debts? He's not the one whose income has lowered, from the sound of it, so he may not realise quite what you're going through, but some adjustment is strongly needed, I think, by both of you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

For now though its time for a cuppa :coffee: - meant to say at food shopping this week i spent more than i intended but this was due to offers - such as on tins of things i use all the time so quite a big saving there really and also cleaning products were stocked up on due to the reduced price. What i also did was allocate £1 each for goodies for me and OH - so there is £2 total for any sweets, cake, biscuits, chocolate. Other than thinking ooh thats a good price and will make a nice treat and then spending quite a few pounds
Hi KC - i didn't see you pop back in therethat is the annoying thing - our money is separate so it comes down to things like using car = using the petrol i've put in it. For the moment the solution will be i will have to put petrol in at the start of the week and put in just enough for the week - so if he needs to use it he'll have yo put petrol in :undecided There are also other things going on here which is why i don't want everything to be an argument all the time

We keep our finances separate too DDFW, other than the joint bills for house etc. My DH does not have debt either, but has dropped income recently.
When we first got together, DH could never understand that when I said I had no money, then I really had no money and couldn't magic some out of anywhere. It did take a while for the message to get through so I can completely see what you are going through. I think you need to just stay firm with him and hopefully the message will get through."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hope you are feeling better today DDFW, and sorry to hear about the letter. It may not be the order you hoped to pay, but at least it will be a horrible debt gone. It's always horrid when these things arrive at the weekend, and you know you can't do anything about it til the week.
Yay to being DF by next birthday though!
Thanks for the recipe, it looks good!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi jwil - thank you for your replies
- erm the debt free by next birthday was more of a commitment statement - i've not actually calculated or done the snowball thing i hear tell of
i was looking for a positive spin on the situation i'm in right now
:rotfl:
To that end i've just done and written up a MS and listed 5 *new* things on e-bay - as in these are not re-lists but newly listed by meso my decluttering total in my sig will go up by the end of the day too :T:T:T
Am just about to list and re-list some more things - need to try and hit that 100 i set myself in the challenge - and if most things sell hopefully it'll mean i hit the £100 for my august challenge too.
Regarding the recipe jwil - it is really nice - i think i put quite a bit of tomato puree in as i really enjoy it and i was like sweetcorn in a casserole? but it is scrummyCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Righto! I am feeling particularly rotten right now
- was ok when i just got still feeling bleurgh but was ok but right now i want to curl up in a ball and rest
This however will mean nothing is done to sort out the bins ready for tomorrow, my plans which are for the future beyond tomorrow, or my debt which is a more pressing and immediate concern  So, e-bay it is, punctuated by any surveys that wing their way to me and also making sure i have done my 2nd lot of free bingo
First things first, amend sig to show the 5 things i've listed, photo and list the few other bits i've got together and then go on the prowl for more items to go :TCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
2nd bingo done
Over half way on e-bay - just need to find some more things after a cuppa :coffee: have also re-listed all the items i'm re-listing for now, the rest can wait until free listing day
All surveys are up to date - they always seem to send these out during the week when i'm at work and don't have alot of time to do them when i get home  or they've had all the responses that they want.
So then, i'll find the extra things to list and get them onThen i'll sort out the bins, then i'll have a lovely hot shower
then it'll probably be time for the next MS.
I've checked banking and as predicted its Sunday and nothing happening thereCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

[STRIKE]Put garden waste into bin[/STRIKE] Done! boy was it heavy - i thnen continued to excavate the path :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - did a bit too much considering i'm not 100% and am now feeling very sorry for myself but am also pleased to be half way there with the path
[STRIKE]2 x MS's to do[/STRIKE] Done 1, changed date on the other i am just not up to it
[STRIKE]2 x MS's to write up [/STRIKE] See above the one i've done has been done
Find and list 20 items on ebay  18 newly listed things on there by me, all items being re-listed, re-listed until next free listing day. So 2 items 2 find and list  also put a couple of bits to the carboot stash
[STRIKE]Usual 2 x free bingo - 1 already done[/STRIKE] Done!

So not too bad then is it? 2 things to find and pop on e-bay and mainly writing work - diary /notepad/projects to doFor now though i think i'll have a little break to try and recover my energy - didn't even have the strength to cough earlier and just made a very odd noise instead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well done on the listings and getting some more done with the path.
Hope you manage to have a rest now!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
