What a great post DDFW :T:T
Sounds like you've had a great weekend, and it's great that you are finding time to do things you like doing.
The things you say about sorting the house out - it really resonates with me, so I'm going to try and get myself in gear so I can simply have an easier life around the house. Hopefully it will encouage DH too.
Have a great day!:)"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

I was feeling quite productive until I read your diary :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I guess though I've been working too, so hopefully if I was on a day off I'd achieve more, but I'm not sure I would "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I confess Jwil - you'll probably see that i try and give the house a good clean about once a week
:rotfl::rotfl: which i think is pretty good considering i'm out of the house at 8.15am and home at 10pm 4days a week if p/t work is on  - i guess i'm lucky too that ours isn't a dusty house and since The Great Tidy Up everything looks so much better :T
Another confession is i have just bought a new pair of trouserseven worse - paid for by credit card :eek::eek: and i'm off out to buy some new underwear. The sun was shining today and i looked in my wardrobe - crikey knows why as i know whats in there! Still not lost this weight to get back in my usual clothes so have a very staple daywear wardrobe of - pair of jeans and a pair of leggins both for casual and a pair of trousers for work. Even my mother who knows i have debt - just not how much - agreed i've not been looking like my usual self for quite a while and as long as i didn't go overboard then a new pair of trousers was essential. Both these and the new underwear i'm getting should please OH mightily too. - I think he may think i've not been making an effort for him any more - or even for myself when the reality is i just can't throw on the clothes i used to and have been living in leggins or shapeless jeans and trying to hide my tum
:o:o So i spent £14 on the trousers. The underwear was too expensive - probably TMI but i've got a couple of bra's and no plans to purchase more just need to find some bottoms that'll go with these. Plus, i like nice underwear it does make me feel good about myself and give me a bit of confidence. Looking to spend less than £10. As i've not had any new underwear for over 2years i think i've done very well. Back later x

Gah! Ended up far too exhausted to pop back on and post anything yesterday. Well I was exhausted for the whole day actually and trailing around trying to find the right pair of pants probably wasn't going to give me a boost of energy either
Going to find the best underwear i could afford didn't help either. Still, i managed to spend exactly the same on underwear - £14 as the pants which is still quite good considering i'd think oh, they look nice... £8  for 1!!! methinks not :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Admittedly i realised how exhausted i was and purchased a pop it in the oven tea which was scrummy - rather than get home and cook what i'd planned. Seems my tablets are likely to change for my thyroid again - at least they will if my energy, or should that be exhaustion?, levels are anything to go by. we'll see...
Also the packing for this weekend hasn't gone quite to plan - i seem to be trying to take everything that fits me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: This is because a) i don't know what the weather will be like - if its nice and warm i'd like to dress in more summery clothes and catch a few rays  b) i'm not sure what activities we'll be doing so need jeans and walking boots in case we head off on a bit of a hike c) Need eveningwear in case OH decides he'd like to treat me to a nice meal :smileyhead) the outfit for the wedding naturally and another top just in case :eek::eek: i think sometimes packing for a couple of days is worse than packing for a week a way because added to all this i've got my make-up, hair stuff, cleansers etc. etc. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh dear! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh also wanted to say that whilst i'm nit thrilled at adding to my debt i also don't feel guilty - i bought items i needed for the best price i could and now feel tons better that i have some non-formal trousers which i can wear :T - just need to ensure i work out how to earn the extra to pay this back :cool:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Ah Dedicated...it's nice to see that someone else is just as incapable of packing as I am!
Have a lovely time, and sometimes when you actually need (and by that I mean 'will look like a homeless person if I don't replace' whatever it is that needs replacing, it has to be done.
Have a nice time! Please call me 'Pickle'

Err... DH doesn't know what housework is!! So no, I do it all. Though to confess, the house is such a mess I can't be bothered most of the time
. It's too much of a pain to hoover when there's stuff stacked all over the floor, and there's no clear surfaces to get dusty! I always used to do a blitz first thing on a Friday morning before I went to work, which meant it was all clear for the weekend, and I'd love to get back to doing that once the house is clearer.
Funnily enough, I've bought a load of new clothes (*cough* on credit *cough*) this week too - my stuff was looking awful so I've bought new trousers, tops and undies too. It's amazing how much of a difference feeling comfortable in your clothes makes! I need to clear out my wardrobe again now too.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hiya Everyone!
Feeling slightly more human after having an afternoon curled up on the sofa restingWas a full-on couple of days but once again was lovely
Pickle - thank-you so much for understanding what i was trying to say about my new stuffand jwil - i thought i'd better post on here about my spends but i totally do not feel guilty about what i bought and i think this is because it was considered purchases that were necessary
Just quickly posting on here whilst OH is out as he'll be on the computer i think once he arrives home
From another thread i have just seen a good idea - probably something i've seen lots and lots but today this just sort of nudged meMind you, this will probably be very obvious to everyone else :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: As you are all aware from my ramblings other than paying off debt i need to have work done on the house which will cost money
Now, all my spare money is being thrown at debts so i'm not managing to save for the things that are needed for the house - new bathroom, boiler, radiators.... etc. and none of it cheap stuff so its not like i could squeeze the monthly budget to raise the funds for this  So i have just emptied all the change from my purse £1.39 which has been put into its own little tin rather than carrying all these pennies round which make my bag so much heavier. Everytime i pop some change in i'll note it in my sig then i'll know where i'm up to :T
Now so far i think i'm going to put boiler as the target the reason? Bathroom desperately needs doing but at the moment the boiler not working is costing me money  The reason being it comes on to a timer which we can't switch off but even with temp turned down we are paying something for this - Every day and at least twice a day  When we do need to put heating on it has to be put on full power or it won't switch on  and if i need hot water i have to put the heating on  so in the nice weather it is unbearably warm. Right enough of those angry faces. At least even with this small start it is a start which i didn't have before :j:j:j and once the boiler is replaced i'll only be paying for the energy i do use and need which will save me money on my gas bill :T:T:T Anyone have any ideas how much new boilers cost these days?CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
They seem to about £1000ish. Someone else was mentioning a new one on another thread. *Ponders* I think it is Radish72 on her thread. I can't remember what she paid, but it was about that. Might be worth a mosey over to ask...she's nice, and only lives in Stockport! Please call me 'Pickle'
