January should be a good time for recruiting some new [STRIKE]victims[/STRIKE] contributors to the thread.
maybe could put a link to the thread in the signature box?
  • I was doing the chart xmas 3 yrs ago, and believe me, it always goes really quiet in Dec and then come January - chart madness and the world and his wife turns up:D and we all struggle to keep up with the newbies, lol.

Well done puddings ! Hope that gives you renewed focus. And well done victory:T.
Sounds lioke you are getting it right de1amo:T

    Mazza - sounds totally carp.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

i was over weight when i arrived where i live now--it was just losing the weight and just eating the normal local diet--my wife just adjusted things which happens when you first get married--we were eating protein with every meal when the reality of Turkey is that the majority of food is veggie based. İf there is meat it is a small portion but good quality.--we now eat as my wife was taught at her parents home. İ honestly think from previous tries at dieting that you have to completely change your way of eating to keep the weight off.-i have had strict diets but as soon as i stopped i gained all the weight back within a couple of months--i have been this weight since June and the only hiccup was caused by returning to the uk and my old ways!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here for ages but thought I'd pop in before the big January rush and say a massive WELL DONE to everyone who's stuck with their weight loss plans this year (or at least some of the year!)

There are some really great results in the total losses column!!! Hope you're all proud! :T

I'm still a little bit over my ideal weight but this is the end of my third year maintaining a size 8 after the weight loss so I'm pretty pleased with that. Here's to 2011! :j

Hi gang. Thanks for the chart Fred, you do a fab job of it.

Puds, well done with the loss this week, and great result considering the stress you've had.

Alliwant - that 1lb has to go before 1st Jan, surely? You can do it!!

Missy - great to hear from you. Glad you're still enjoying your energetic life, and maintaining your weight brilliantly after a few years.

Mazza & Puds - I can totally sympathise with your boiler problems. I hope you have some heat in the place over the holidays. Our council aren't much better Maz, but was fortunate to know who their contractor company is, and contacted them directly to get things moving.

    Victory - great loss.

Betty - enjoy the festive season, but don't over-do it, coz you'll just beat yourself up about it and regret it (don't we all?), but have your treats nonetheless. January brings a new start for all of us.

Eric - STS is no bad thing at this time of year. Is the appetite still huge?

Vixarooni - what's happening with the new job, and the foot op? Hope you have a good Christmas with the family... a bit different for you this year apart from Matt, but I hope you are enjoying your singleton Christmas to the full ;)

Well, I went out just after 6am this morning to do the last of the food shopping :snow_laug, and we now have 'Gladys' the turkey sat in the fridge along with lots of other goodies, not many unhealthy this year I'm glad to say. Lots of lean meats, salad, but also some quiches for Christmas eve buffet. Tomorrow night we'll have our 'traditional' Chinese takeaway, and we have whatever we want in that one, but I'm ordering boiled rice instead of egg fried, and have bought egg fried from the s/mkt for the boys that want it. Today I've had my 1st mince pie of the season, when I went to visit my friend and goddaughter, and I've also had a meat pie for tea, but it only had a puff crust, so no base pastry, so all in all, it's not been so bad. I'm going to have my first chocolate tonight, and I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it.

I wish you all a wonderfully happy Christmas :xmassign:, and a peaceful new year. I know it's going to be a difficult one for some of our thread members, and my thoughts and prayers are with you in particular. I'd like to thank all of you for the terrific support, encouragement, commiserating and laughs during the past year(s), and look forward to more of the same in 2011, when I hope we'll continue to keep things moving in a downwards direction. I really do think this is the loveliest thread on MSE. :D :xmastree:
