I wonder if Gemma might even be pleased that you've noticed, if she read this thread anyway, Vix? The Gavin & Matt drooling may convince her it's not going to be worth pursuing though! lol

Puddings/Ted, WOW! You're such an inspiration, and you must feel so proud at having really worked at your weight loss. Well done, and I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the sub.

Victory - I'm pleased things are less muddled in your mind now, and that you seem to be accepting that with time, everything works out OK in the end. Even if that OK is just acceptance on your part. I'm sure you find it rather sad about your mother, but the truth is, from all you've written about her here, she really doesn't sound like the sort of person you'd choose to have in your life, and who knows when she might have started to inflict her poisonous tongue on your kids?

I'm off to spend the day in the garden now, plenty of jobs need doing out there, and as it's dry and mild, I need to make the most of it. Tomorrow it will be blitzing the house, after the children return to school. It's not been worth attempting with them here. They seem to attract dust and dirt, then drop it everywhere inside the house.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Roast turkey breast, veg, more veg, unlimited veg, plus a couple of boiled potatoes, sounds like a healthy balanced meal? .... well i think it is - and is only £3.59 so fairly mse too.

I've a cunning plan for December, called erm,"The 12 Carveries of Christmas"... watch this space! lol ;-)
  • Hello back to you vixarooni. I did another swim today and i'm definitely managing a bit more each time i go and starting to really enjoy it. I'd also like to lose about 1lb a week funnelly so I think you've done well. Fitness class sounds good. I don't think i'm quite up to that yet with the bad back but would be great to be able to one day.

Thought this thread had gone a bit quiet then noticed (very belatedly) that you'd started a new one!
I'm sneaking back in as I'm def gaining more than losing although, as yet, my size hasn't changed and I did manage a ten mile run last week. But I definitely need to refocus seriously. Had a friend up this weekend and had a final blowout until Xmas. Here goes...

the winter house clothes are on--a definate chill has descended upon my house.--its 10 months since i set myself a list of goals and losing some weight was one of them.--i have just weighed myself in my tracksuit i had on that day back in January and i am down 11kgs--23lbs!
i didnt started dieting in earnest til April when i joined a gym and joined in here--i started on my quests 1st January very slowly by just cutting down and not gaining any weight while i concentrated on other things--eg financial --to budget for the gym!!--i have hit many of the other targets on my list and my feeling about life has been greatly improved --as well as my blood pressure!--it works to do new year resolutions!!

My weight in my birthday suit has decreased 2lbs since my last weigh in on the 18th October--i am not actively dieting but just being careful and trying to maintain now--my last great diet a few years ago saw me bounce back to a higher weight than i started but this time i have changed the fundamentals of my life--diet has changed -i am married and dont drink much alcohol now-i lived in the uk then now i live abroad!!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Interesting eric. True in places. My gym workout this morning left me hungry like the wolf, and sometimes after a gym sesh i'll go to a cafe and eat more than i would have....because ive been to the gym!

Still, i feel better for it rather than anything else, so thats the positive i take!
