  • Thanks Eric - great information. I had a look at the scales and they look great - only downside is that they don't seem to have imperial measurements.

Hey Vix - Congrats on getting the assessment and Good Luck on the day.

Hi Fixx and welcome to the weight loss party here.

Curlybap - if you are buying scales, go digital - they are a lot more precise. I did have an old set of WW scales which measured Body Fat %, but they were rubbish! Happy hunting.

Hey all. Back at last, and we have a shiny new thread!
Didn't get a chance to weigh in for this week's chart, and just as well if the weight I got today is anything to go by. I simply haven't had my LW mojo this year, that's a fact.

Well done to all the losers though. In the words of Mr Grace from Are You Being Served, 'you're all doing very well'!

OH and I have decided to get a joint gym membership again, so I'll feel guilty if I don't get my money's worth out of that, and secretly, I think he's trying to gently push me in the right direction to get fitter again. My fitness has definitely got much worse this year.

Vix, good luck with the meeting. There's no telling where a job like that will take you... literally!

I hope all who were feeling a bit fed up, poorly or just out of sorts, are feeling a bit better. I'm still up/down, esp. with the son situation still. It's still not plain sailing here, but as with everyone else, we just muddle on through. Our worries and woes are far simpler and easier to deal with than other's have got.

    Have a good weekend everyone.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

I am thinking about re-joining the gym too as i am finding it really hard to lose weight without the gym, i seem to thrive from working out with other people seemsd to keep me going for longer and work harder so may join up again soon. there is a local place that is not part of a chin that i could cycle too (though i havent cycled in a few months due to my breathing so that is probably the first step before getting back into the gym)

Things do get better in time. I like to think of life as one big set of swings and roundabouts! Youre just on the roundabout bit at the mo, and hopefully you'll come off and run to the swings! It's been nice to hear from you though, and well done to your son for that weight loss, impressive!!
  • Can someone explain this for me. This week and last week I have ate the same food, same amount of exercise yet last week i only lost 1/2 a lb yet its only Friday this week and the scales are showing 5lb off so far.

many many reasons, the bodys not a machine, if you do not eat enough you put your metabolism into starvation mode, salt causes water retention etc

try to eat every 3-4 hours to keep your metabolism fired up, eat some lean protein with every meal, try to mix up what you eat say a couple of higher cal days then 2-3 lower cal days, and eat different amounts at different times on different days, try not to fall into a pattern
