Low fat food can also include wholegrains, pasta, rice, veg, beans and lentils - perhaps high in calories but very filling and nutritious
I think they should clarify they mean food 'marked as low fat' ie crisps, junk food and not all food that is low in fat!!! (if you see what i mean)

they are implying diet foods deliberatly marked low fat which people think its going to help them loose weight

if its loaded with carbs then its game over for the weight loss

yeh i get that i just thought that they could have been a bit more explicit about it - food that is naturally low fat but high in fibre or protein is fab and they dont really mention that at all.

    Thanks Alliwanttosave

I'm actually still very sore, (my butt and thighs) 2 days after the powerplate session!!!! I hope it eases off for tomorrow, because I have another session booked:eek:. I actually booked the second session before I felt the after effects, but at least now I know what to expect.;)

Well I've had 2 shortcake biscuits with my coffee at lunchtime today so i'm going to go and have an hour on my wii to burn it off.

I'm very proud of myself today as I feel like I have accomplished something - When I took Dexter out for a walk today I walked him the farthest ever since I fell and broke my ankle.:T I think we went for about a mile and a half, so i'm very pleased. The ankle held up well and the crisp frosty ground was good to walk on. A definite improvement.

Anyway, I'll love you and leave you, my wii beckons:A

betty thanks, I ate the minestrone SW soup for 2 the recipe said, I ate the lot, it was moorish and lovely and I ate the whole thing, now my blood sugars are 19.4:eek: when they should be between 4-7, I have various options, put some more insulin on, wait for it to come down or have a very hot bath which reduces it, see what I mean very sensitive to change:rotfl::rotfl: my fault should have had one bowfull and done but I loved it so ate the lot, fortunately it was heaving with carrots, toms, only 2 pots a few handfuls of pasta and beans:D carbs increase means insulin increase to counter act it and never really did that this lunchtime, have had absolutely nothing since because I can't have to wait and because I am full :D

Thanks for the link had already read that one but thanks anyway you are lovely and helpfull and I really appreciate it.

Because of the diabetes there is nothing I eat/buy/make/cook that I don't look at the label first for cals/fats/sugars especially, I have to know and the supermarket run takes a lot longer than a normal person:rotfl: that is why I have a tendency to stick to what I know, oxtail soup, tomato soup the can loaded with sugars, some yogs are loaded with sugars, the WW desserts can't touch them, some breads have lots of sugars, custard is full of it, the list goes on, I have to be aware.

As for veg, fine with it apart from parsnips yuck eat them all exotic ones and normal, I love veg but I have been doing this every single day for the past 3 years and am now ready to not eat veg every day:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have been doing SW recipes and I trust you and don't trust myself, portion control is a big issue and always has been, can see it will and does work and millions follow it but to me piling up a plate with rice is alien and cannot get my head around it, carbs are to be worked off and exercised and I do neither so it sits there and turns to fat.

I am having cod in meditterean sauce (toms, peppers, herbs) with SW chips, I have purposely only cut up 2 pots for it but it looks like a good meal and having a bit of veg with it probably runner beans or broad beans.

I get the SW ethos, like all the diets, less nasties, more healthy stuff and more exercise equals weight loss.

All the diets out there, like the rosemary conley, dukkan, Jenny Craig, meal replacements, the BL diet & exercise programme, the GI diet, aitkens, x weighted one, WW, bikini diet, all of them work if you are dedicated, don't cheat, do the exercise, they work, just not used to being told I can have endless carbs and cals and still loose;)

I am giving it my best shot and that is all one can ask:D

an interesting article which is pretty much what i had worked out from the various bits of research that i had read, except i think counting calories is also important (teaches portion control) and so is a bit of exercise, especially resistance training.

and as i keep saying, its all about insulin control !!

    http://www.drbriffa.com/2011/01/09/a-brief-fat-loss-guide-for-men-or-women/

I have to agree with counting cals teaches portion control, it is an over eaters way of taking back control and dealing with food in numbers rather than sizes of meals, I know you keep saying it is all about the insulin control and it is for me being diabetic, OH always says first comes that and second comes what you eat, how much you eat and what diet you are on, if that goes according to plan then the rest is easier, if it goes mental as it has done this afternoon, sure I eat less but feel terrible for it and it was not even chocolate that did it it was the pasta pots in the soup, those blessed carbs:rotfl::rotfl:

To me SW is saying to me go to the buffet and fill your face until you are sick, no need to stop, no need to take control, no need to count cals, just keep on eating, the buffet is all yours and I keep trying to keep control but as the soup proves I have none and ate the lot:D

This is why people should educate themselves and avoid the parasites like slimming world and weight watchers (who are behind a lot of this stuff) - simply scams designed to enslave people in complex systems designed to turn them into infants and fill their shareholders pockets.

Oh forgot to say, went to the docs, sat down, told him all about the crying, unhappiness, how each day carries a black cloud around etc, the doc said 'go out more, get more fresh air, go walking more, keep active and if you wish join a gym if you don't feel any better in a few weeks time come back and we will talk again'

    Charming:D
