I've been feeling a bit iffy with my food take during this past week. Although tonight mum has whipped out the dreaded slow cooker so i said i didnt want any.....i hate stuey things! So i had cheerios for dinner. Probably not for the best, but i just hate slow cooker food.

Oh and i have a confession. I didnt make the gym on sunday :( so wednesday it is now (potentially)

well done rablovesroo, purdita, princess, romylou, pollo (and anybody else thats lost some this week)

It is easy to keep a food diary when youre being good, but when youre not being good, its a completely different story. I think the answer is to make sure you stay being good all the time :-)

Ew! Eating at midnight? and 9? Are you doing the small portions often rule?
roughly it works out at 360 calories every 3 hours. i get very hungry late at night so although people advise not to eat late, and also say never to skip breakfast, i can easily get to lunchtime without being hungry so I just ignore the advice and do my own thing!

Thats why it's often better to have toast with butter on your own. You can apply the butter however you like it then
butter? (sniffs) i'd have thought you'd be a sardines on toast sort of girl ;)

Just watching a news article about an evil scumbag that lived a few miles from me, who videoed himself battering and torturing a toddler to death. Sometimes a life sentence really really isnt enough.
Sorry its off topic, is just that its made me really irate.grrr

Fredsnail, put me down for a + :( but I deserved every ounce of it!
I knew I hadn't stuck to plan this weekend - had a "fat" craving that I just couldn't satisfy - so I devoured sausage rolls (which I usually don't crave!) a huge chunk of brie cheese (with cranberry sauce) and crackers and polished off a bottle of white wine (I'm usually a red girl)!
As if that wasn't enough I had lunch with my mum today and had a dessert of sticky toffee pudding (I NEVER eat desserts normally!)
Have given myself a severe talking to and now just need the rear end kick! :silenced:

Note to self: Must do better this week!

    {Slinks back out}

sounds more like carb craving to me with a side order of fats :(

this sort of thing can be stopped if you want by breaking the addiction to carbs and getting your insulin levels back under control, it does take 2-3 weeks of moderate will power but once done makes life very much easier

90% of obese+ people skip breakfast and or lunch, then when they get to there evening meal they are ravenous and pig out like crazy

eating fires of the metabolism and puts it in "wake mode" it really is critical to start early with the food even if its only something small

the eat large medium small meals over the day has been debunked many times now in scientific trials (like water stops you being hungry) its total cals in and cals out over the day

I am like you, I can not sleep if I am hungry so I have massive evening meals, 40% of my daily calories but i eat 3-4 other small meals over the day, i had to retrain myself to do this to start with

Heres last nights meal, it had 100g extra protein as its a training day but it still fills a large serving bowl, i bulk it out with delicious steamed veg. Sometimes I stir fry the veg with garlic etc or add jerk chilli sauce etc to vary the meals to vary the taste, but always its a wok full.

I eat it 3-4 hours before bed and never wake up hungry or have problems sleeping.

It is critical however not to have a lot of carbs before bed as this changes your hormone profile which disrupts sleep, so its better to have your carbs during the day.

    eveningmeal.jpg

but it still comes within my daily calorie limit, training days have an extra 400 cals in the form of a high carb/protein shake 60 mins before training as I am building mass at the moment.

betty are you still there can you check my SW food for today for syns?

B-28g porridge this can be your HEB but you also need a Wholewheat Ryvita or a scan bran to complete the HEB, or you can syn it for 5 syns
with skimmed milk (350ml = HEA)
    and frozen berries (superfree)

L-2 eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, (all free / superfree) 1 slice of wholemeal bread (HEB or 4 syns)

D- chicken curry made from the SW website (free) and 1 tortilla wrap (WW one it was - 5 syns)

Desert sugar free jelly (what brand? 0.5 syns, approx) and fruit (superfree) with fromage frais (free if the fromage frais was fat free)

    snacks
2 crackers (cream crackers are 2 syns each, so 4) with coleslaw (sainsbury's is 4 syns for 100g)
    lean meats(free)
sugar free jelly (0.5 syns) with fruit (superfree) and no added sugar choc angel delight (11 syns)

    Ok here are some suggestions:

B-28g porridge - HEB this and you can have a ryvita later on*
with skimmed milk HEA for 350ml
    and frozen berries Superfree

L-2 eggs, bacon (with all the fat cut off), mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, 1 slice of wholemeal bread (4 syns)

(more food = less snacking later on!)

D- chicken curry made from the SW website and [STRIKE]1 tortilla wrap [/STRIKE] boiled rice and lots of veg mixed in (free and superfree) and will also fill you up more

Desert sugar free jelly and fruit with fat free fromage frais

    snacks
2 [STRIKE]crackers [/STRIKE] ryvita (1 will complete the HEB* and 1 will be 1.5 syns)
with coleslaw - make the coleslaw yourself and significantly reduce the syns - ideas here: http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/125594-coleslaw-recipe-pls.html and here
    http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/157707-coleslaw-recipe.html
    lean meats
[STRIKE]sugar free jelly with fruit and no added sugar choc angel delight
[/STRIKE]weightwatchers or mullerlight yoghurt (0 - 1 syn depening on which variety) with fruit

Hope these helps. Just need to sort out lower syn snacks really.
The angel delight is 11 syns on all plans  couldn't quite believe it cos it's sugar free but I guess it's a calories-to-fullness ratio issue. (ie. you can eat a lot of it fairly easily but it wont fill you up or be particularly good for you)

But you can have the dessert style weightwatchers yogs for free and most mullerlights are free except the really lovely ones with choc or cheesecake bits in but they are still only about 1 syn!!

Make sure you also syn any oil you use for cooking, or use frylight for free, and any butter on your bread.

homemade coleslaw, or a very low fat shop bought version, will save you lots of syns too.

Here is my EE day today, just to give you further ideas:

Brekkie - pot of tea with 125ml semi skim milk (1/2 HEA allowance)
    1 slice wholemeal toast(HEB)
1 tsp flora light (1 syn)
2 eggs, scrambled and cooked with frylight (free)
    baken beans (free)
    mushrooms (superfree)

Snack - a clementine and an apple (superfree)

Lunch - pasta (free) with tinned tuna in brine (drained) (free)
2 tbsp extra light mayo (1 syn)
    sweetcorn (free)
onions, cucumber, toms and salad leaves (superfree)

Snack - homemade leek and potato soup (free/superfree)

Dinner - red peppers stuffed with spicy rice and veg (superfree)
21g low fat cheddar cheese (1/2 HEA)
turkey pieces cooked in a tomato sauce (free/superfree)
1 tsp olive oil for cooking (2 syns)

    total syns = 4

Morning all. Pleased and relieved to report a 4.4lb loss this week please, thanks fred. Two consecutive zumba classes Sunday and Monday nights definitely helped. Onway back down. Phew.

I got the boxset last year that has both these in. Ive only done the Power of 3 once and only did 20 minutes of it because I was pushed for time. Or lazy! I use the 30 minute workouts all the time though. I find them really good and have helped me lose the lbs! She gets really annoying though so I just mute her and play my favourite music instead!

Cool, thanks for the feedback - I will prob look at getting the box set of these two then, it's £13 but the 2 DVDs individually are £12 each! :money:
