If there are any xmas leftovers do not let them go into the cupboards, insist the kids eat them or the neighbours have them, or give them away to the neighbours friends kids, whatever you do, do not have a cupboard full of xmas sweets, they will talk to you, offer you all sorts to be eaten and you will listen to them, especially in the evenings:rotfl::rotfl: get rid of them any which way and do not buy anymore in, just because they are all 1/2 price in the shops now the calories are not half, they are still full fat:rotfl::rotfl:stay away from the lovely sweet aisle and promise yourself some in the future like valentines day or mothers day, until you have detoxed your body- keep away:rotfl:

  • Hey I am a newbie and I am bit lost.
For my new years resolution I want to lose 3 stones by the summer for mostly three reasons
I want to be able to run around and not get out of breath.
I want to be able to get into clothing that I would not normally wear due to my weight.
And finally I am running the race for life next year in honour of my Boyfriend's Grandad who died sadly before I got to meet him.

I just need help on getting started and I am bit unsure what to do on this board and how to fit in on this board.

    Thanks

You've found our friendly thread so you're not lost :T

Weight yourself once a week - any day is fine, and post the result (ie a 2lb loss/gain or STS (Stay the Same)) before Wednesday evening.

I compile the chart late Wednesday evening and tell people who the SotW (Slimmer of the week) and at the end of the month (SotM).

We currently have a North v South challenge about to start so if you'd like to join in you will need to pm me if you're in the north or south of the country and your starting weight so I can get the % team loss. If you'd prefer not to tell me your starting weight you can join the inbetweeners team.

There is also a 5lb challenge where people challenge themselves to lose 5lb in a month. You can let me know if you want to join that.

Otherwise you can just join in the chat - everyone has highs and lows and we all support and encourage each other and chat about all sorts of things.

Victory people don't mean to hurt us and then when they see they have and try to fix things just make things worse.

We are all in here because we know we have a problem and are trying to address it - but we also know that it is not as easy as many people think it should be - if it was we'd all be size 0 and straight up and down.

I happen to like my curves but would prefer them to be hourglass than humpback bridge size :rotfl:

I hope that all your dreams come true FP.

I also hope that we all achieve our goals and hopes for 2011.

New Year = new you (if that's what you want) and a lottery win wouldn't go amiss either

Wednesday 73.9 kg, now today down to 73.1 kg.

    Happy New 2011, everyone!

Yesterday we went to the wildlife centre and I've bought a pair of walking poles.

Also, the little swimming pool I go to reopens Tuesday, back to my swimming lessons and aqua-aerobics. I wasn't able to go there from early December - first I had a heavy cold, then snow (impossible to get into their car park) then they closed for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year. Need to get back to it.

January 1st - time for a new me

My plan is to lose weight by May when I want to go back on holiday so I would like to join the lose 5lb a month challenge.

I weighted myself today and I am 11st 8lb. 5lb a month should take me to 10st 2lb - but somewhere I'd like to lose slightly more to take me to just under 10st by May and then eventually get down to 9st.

I purposely ate what I wanted over Christmas and indulged myself, and I really am now in the right frame of mind to diet.
