We're teaming up next year you and me. I've decided this on your behalf
Team BV. Or is that a disease? Well anyway, were doing it! I'm feeling positive already. Or i might have done 30 mins ago - before i polished off some chocolate fingers ha.
Yes I'm in Vix - 2011 is gonna be our year! Size 10 jeans here we come!!!Betty: Are you on myfitnesspal? Its got a bit for friends on it that ive only just noticed. If you are, i'll add you. I basically want to fit into size 10 clothes so im going for what ever weight gets me to that point. Your body shape is different to mine, im more pear. Tomorrow im going to take a pic of myself in my smalls as motivation, or something body con like. I will also measure myself and see what i lose that way (before i go to the gym!)
I took front and side view pics of me in leggings and a vest top - very unflattering. will take a few more as my weight goes down (because it will!!) and hopefully see a difference each time.
I'm not on myfitnesspal, but I will join today - I have joined as Betty19. I am not sure i'll use the cal counter much cos of doing SW again but I will use it to log my exercise.
I am having one last 'hurrah' today - NYE calls for a takeaway and a lot of alcohol. but I have spirits and diet mixers so not all bad. And I am scoffing fruit this morning to counter balance the curry we'll get later on!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Hi guys, I am just wondering if I can still join this challenge? I've been reading through much of the thread (though not all of it yet!) and it looks like a great place to get tips and support with trying to lose weight. Or am I too late to sign up this time?

Hiya, welcome to the thread. I'm sure it's not too late for you to join in!
We have a couple of 'competitions' (very friendly ones!) that you can be involved with - the lovely Fredsnail is in charge.
We have a North v South (uk) challenege, so please let us know where you are from and you can join in with a team! We also have the '5lb' challenge each month.
Every wednesday we post our weigh in loss/gain/sts (stay the same) and fred adds it to the chart - with a big well done to the biggest loser each week.
In the meantime, please do tell us more about you! How much are you trying to lose? what kind of diet/exercise are you planning on doing??
I am a bit of a hopeless case at the mo but hey new year = new successes!!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Who hear still has snow?
Did anyone watch the DIY SOS on beeb1 last night - it envolved a whole lot of MSE peeps who had supported a new member in dire circs and ended up getting the programme to come and sort his house out. Really touching and uplifting.
About joining clubs, courses and stuff - always easier if you are not ill or disabled and have a partner to go with of course (or come home to). Takes a huge effort and courage when it is a real struggle to even get there and no one to help. And interacting with new people takes a lot of energy which you may have used up getting there.
However, having said that, all my friends I have made since completely starting over in B 10 yrs ago have been made through joining various courses, (including my OH) .. and of course MSE:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Still snow here.Gah.
SOS thingy was fab.
Very uplifting.
No energy to intereact with new people, bad enough with people I know sometimes esp in the snow as moving uses all my energy.

WOW! "The astonishing DIY gastric band pill" !!!!!
http://clinico.co.uk/fat-blitz.asp
erm, come on get real...rubbish just like this is produced year after year simply because there are idiots who believe the blurb and who are too easily parted with their hard earned cash "only £29.95 + pp" lmfao
Any product that feels the need to include a paragraph of smallprint "fair trading information" should ring alarm bells, yet there are hundreds of other equally useless weight loss concoctions advertised, most dont even have the smallprint and for those, the alarm bells should ring even louder.
If you're reading this thread because you've decided to shed a few lbs for the start of the new year then a big welcome to you  please hang around, we're a real friendly bunch...
but despite what you might read in dietpill blurb and the like -
pleeease remember that...
the only way you will lose weight is to eat less or move more

You mean thinking about it loads and talking about it loads but doing nothing about it won't work?? Damn there goes my plan....
Feeling like a big fat blob today, but I don't care, I'm going to drink and be merry today and use all my energy for good in the new year!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

I have recieved your request betty! I hardly use it myself. I started off with good intentions but it gets boring logging everything you eat!
I didnt go to the gym, but i had a good boogie sesh in front of the tv this morning, and gave the house a hoover. Plus i played table football with matt which is actually quite physically demanding!!!
No sign of my dress that was dispatched yesterday. I bet it will arrive new years day and if it does i'll tell it to bum off.0
