How strange!! I've been out for new years all of my life. I just asked my mum if i was out for the first new years of my life when i was 3 months old - she said yes! My mum and dad have always gone out too, they never get drunk though, not even tipsy or merry so no hangover for them!

Well i hope you guys kinda enjoy NYE this year!

Gym for me today, felt good and i feel great! Is there a particular time of day thats good to measure yourself (hips, thighs ect)?

  • A week ago just before we left I weighed 73.0 kg.

Got back yesterday, this morning weighed 73.9 kg.

    Not good.

We had some nice meals while away but I wouldn't have said I went mad at all.

I have a sprained wrist, swollen, maybe that's part of it.

  • Hey FFM:j Great to hear from you and that you feel fit and good. Do pop in from time to time.

Love the adapted desiderata quote puddings:D

-1lb off for me please Fred:D

I feel fairly neutral about NYE. Not a party type myself - prefer meeting friends one to one for coffee etc. But I have spent plenty of NYE's on my own so now I have a OH I am quite content to watch Jools Holland or go to bed when we want.

I think it is hard if you are not a natural reveler but don't have anyone to spend it with (that you wouldlike to) then it can feel like the whole world is having fun but you, which of course is so untrue.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Something along those lines is true.

Just need to get out there!.. there are lots of clubs about. My parents social life is greater than my own because of their bowles club, mum is constantly on the phone and out having fun. I'd even go out with someone one on one and go for a meal, i used to do that with matt and then we'd find a pub somewhere. Boring though that year in brighton i must say...

I havent a clue what this jools holland malarky is about, someone mentioned it to me today. I'll have to sky plus him!

Weight loss is going well, im going to go to the gym on friday too i think! Will go towads making those alcoholic calories a bit less scary!

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely Xmas.

I have STS which is quite good considering, however I feel like I can't get back on the wagon as it were until all the choc in the house is gone (ie. eaten) otherwise I will just be tempting myself to 'fail'.

agree - there's loads of clubs and stuff to do. My mum does classes at the gym like tai chi and body balance, and my auntie does bakery courses, and one of my OH's grandparents belongs to a gardening and flower growing/arranging club.

Planning a quiet-ish NYE with friends - hate going out, too much expectation to 'have fun' and get drunk and it costs so much just to get in the local pub, let alone cabs home, etc. lol how old do i sound?? It's my birthday in a week or so too, so i dont want to go out for NYE cos we'll be going to pubs for my bday.

am not thinking about losing weight yet, however when my friend who's on the tony ferguson diet comes round for new yr i'm prob going to feel really fat next to her. damn.
