Wife starts work tomorrow!
Apparently, whilst my mum was on holiday, the other ward manager got up to some naughty business and was suspended, so no new starters could start until my mum returned. She is now back and has given the wife the all clear to start tomorrow.
So, that was some good news over the weekend, and along with the nice weather which allowed plenty of family activity time without spending a penny there are no complaints from the No Money household! A lottery win this weekend would be very nice!
Thats fantastic no money. Oh a lottery win would be nice even 3 numbers

There was unfortunately no lottery win this weekend, probably because I was money saving and didn't buy a ticket! Still, it was a free weekend for me as the nice weather allowed us to go and play in the park and not have to splash the cash.
Although, we had an experience day (huge family day out on Saturday, all brothers and their wives/girlfriends were in attendance). Dad's Christmas gift to us all, and this was topped off with dinner at a nice country pub, paid for by the parents too, so very money saving this weekend - in fact, with my refereeing on Sunday I actually made cash!0 -
No lottery win for me either. Glad you had a good MSE weekend!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

That sounds like a lovely weekend! Is your wife enjoying her job?Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. She is enjoying it thanks Kat, although not too impressed that the nice weather has seemed to arrive just as she starts working. Still, she only works 3 x 12 hour-shifts a week so it's not as if she can complain too much.
The only problem is she is work both today and tomorrow so going to have to entertain the kiddies on my own for the majority of the Easter weekend.0 -
Ah, forgot to add. Checked my bank account this morning (pay day next week) and realised that so far this year I have managed to save £250 - which given that the wife has not worked for the last 2-months so have been covering her financially, and overtime being removed from work for so long this isn't too bad.
As the wife is now working I can start using these savings for the purpose I intended, so next week, a nice heavy payment against one of the CC's will be made.0 -
That is a good amount of savings considering your wife has not been working. Glad she's enjoying the job though.

Hi Nmoney
Thats fantastic that you were able to save so much and still pay all the bills on one income. You are doing very well. So you will be taking the hatchet to the credit cards...they will start reducing and it will give you even more incentive to keep throwing money at them.
Enjoy your weekend with the kids...the weather is so amazing.
God bless

Thanks for the kind words guys.
The spare income that I am throwing at the cards this month has reduced slightly, but not by alot. With the weather being really nice, and my wife working most of the bank holiday I took the kids out for a few days to have what I think was a well deserved treat. Didn't cost a fortune and thought that we all deserved it, as they have put up with stessy mum and dad recently.
My wife and I worked out her finances, and when she gets paid she should have a surplus of £300 p/m after all essential payments, money for food etc is deducted. She is hoping to hammer her own debts at this (or as near to this) as possible each month and then as a gesture for all the support start hitting mine.
Although we are tempted to leave her o/d as only incurring £12 a month in interest and as soon as she has cleared her CC start on mine as the amount on those is considerably more each month than the o/d - however, we shall see.
Everyone enjoying the nice and unexpected sunshine?0
