Thanks Kat - we won't be going forward with it for atleast another fortnight, so hopefully after leaving it 3-months they won't have an issue.
We are likely to be going with CAP over CCCS as they have a local branch and send someone out to you and go through everything at your home rather than over the phone. I will find it easier to understand the whole process that way rather than trying to interpret something over the telephone.0 -
Good day all - hope we are all looking forward to a nice weekend. Not alot of positives to announce here I am afraid, although work has now increased the awful limit on overtime to unlimited, so fingers crossed I can take advantage of that and make some serious money to assist with our current predicament.
Hoping for a peaceful weekend, and would seriously be grateful for a lottery win - but we can always dream on that one I guess.0 -

Yes, CAP are free.
As I said above, the only reason they are ahead is due to the loca office. My only concern is whether they will frown upon my acceptance of my Egg card at the end of last year as obtaining credit then going on a DMP.
Tried calling my CAB for confirmation but haven't managed to get through to a normal person yet.
Weekend turned out to be peaceful thanks to it raining the whole time. Although the little one is on half term this week so my wife will no doubt have to try and entertain. Fortunately, her dad is also off this week and has suggested he may take them swimming, so atleast that will get them out and about whilst I am stuck in the stuffy greenhouse that is called my office.0 -

Morning all.
I'm sitting here in a very depressed mood this morning. I was off yesterday, and spent the day helping my wife try and find a new job. We had no luck whatsoever. All the applications were completed online and pretty much received responses advising applications had closed before we submitted her interest due to sufficient interest (basically, once enough people had applied they stop accepting applicants, which is rather odd).
So, sitting here, not knowing what to do, no-money to make a positive indentation into the debt we have to repay, no money coming in from my wifes as all the benefit entitlements she is currently getting are just about paying her way through the month and some element of the monthly bills. My wages covering my share and supplementing her reduction in bill payments.
She does have an appointment with the JC today to see if they can assist, and also see what additional financial help they can offer (benefits etc in the interim).
Had enough now and want it to just go away - slight depressed moan over, back to work (something else I cannot be motivated with at the moment). Just proof read a colleagues resignation letter and it's so tempting to do the same and ignore it all.0 -
.NoMoney, I hope you are feeling a bit better today, and I hope your wife had some help at the JC.
Once you get your appointment with CAP, hopefully you can get on with the DMP and have your payments at a much more manageable level which will take some of the stress away.
I completely understand how you are feeling, as my DH is off with depression at the moment and I am the main breadwinner on top of trying to keep up with my debts.
I'm sure you are not the only person to go on DMP shortly after taking out new credit, circumstances can change at any time. They'll still be getting their money back, just over a longer period of time.

Thanks for the kind words jwil - I am feeling slightly better today, but I think thats down to it almost being the weekend and therefore I get to spend some time with the family rather than quickly saying hi before I leg it out the door in the morning.
Wifes visit to the JC was a little assistance, she gets her £60p/w payment into her account whilst she hunts for work, but has to wait a fortnight for that to start - she is optimistically hoping that she will be able to find work before that happens.
I am waiting on a call from CAP today to tell me when they can come around and visit us - fingers crossed it will be in the next week or so, if nothing else, they can give us an idea if things will be a little easier.0 -
