Same here too. It's normally lesson planning day as well but as I'm not in tomorrow its not. That's the fun I will have tomorrow.

  • michelle its being disciplined the flylady way that is the answer...problem is I can only manage a little flap at the moment! twinklie I'm not in tomorrow either, but I do my planning the wednesday of the previous week so I can request practicals by the thursday - our technicians are super intelligent and helpful and lovely, but v.v. strict!!!

Oh no I have to do that too....but I meant in terms of future planning and sorting ppts, adapting lessons based on what happened in the last lesson, sorting worksheets etc. I can tell you in theory what I'm doing now till half term...whether it works out that way is a different story. I guess it's a positive of being a science teacher...you always have to know what your doing well in advance!!

We have to have our equipment lists at least 48 hours in advance.

  • That is very impressive, knowing what you're doing until half term. We plan in week long chunks, and I just follow topic rotas otherwise, its all planned out for me.

That said, I have y10 doing an exam Thurs and Y11 doing one next week, and I have to get all my coursework (ahem, controlled assessments) annotated by half term when I leave.

Also, the AS exam I'm marking is on Thursday.

  • Got rid of unwanted visitor (XH).

Despite having had months to prepare for it he brought no christmas or birthday presents for DD1.

She is not materialistic at all, but I do think it is exceptionally pathetic.

I don't know how anyone can do that, even more so when it is their own child. I can't even do it to other peoples kids.

At least the trauma of the visit is over for you. No wonder you were dreading it. Best to move on. Your DD will realise all these things for herself as she gets bigger.

Sorry to sound like a right thicko...but could you tell me a little more about the one to one tutoring you do. Do you get lots of guidance with what to do?
