Twinklie - it can really be the little things at this stage like someone taking you a cuppa so you have time to run to the loo for the millionth time in the short breaks you get, or help her out to the car if she is taking books home. I had two people looking out for me, one was my lab technician and one was one of my male colleagues, and i would find they would bring a cake in for everyone, but make sure i had 2 bits to keep my energy up. :rotfl:

I already do both of these things. I even travel in the lift with her despite me HATING the things...just in case it gets stuck so that she's not alone. I just feel like I should be doing more. We always have LOTS of food in our workroom....naughty food that is - so she's well taken care of there as well. :rotfl:

Thats a point, is there anything you'd love someone at work to do for you either out of niceness or just to make your life a bit easier. I really would love to help her out a bit more. She's had a hard time getting to this stage (miscarried last new year) and I want her to be a happy mummy to be. :)

Michelle is right, its the small things that make the difference, like I remember one colleague carrying my homework diaries for me when I got them all at the start of the year, and that was 9 years ago, but I still remember and am grateful.
Everyone is being really sweet at work, and I'm not struggling too badly yet.
What I really appreciate is not being "parked" in terms of my ambition because of being pg, at my last school people who were pg were expected to go away with their heads hanging or come back and say baby, what baby?
Sounds like you are an ace friend.
Ah gotta love the joys of working with teenagers eh?! :rotfl: at least your countdown to hols is in weeks!!

    He he he he he:T
Grateful - that conversation with the kid makes me remember why i got out.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Its the minority at this place, thank the Lord.

  • Another NSD today, the DDs book order came from Waterstones (dreadful, slow service, only used it because we had vouchers). Found swine 'flu vaccine for DD2 at local surgery, it seems seasonal 'flu jab can't be had for love nor money.

The only thing is we have to wait until they have ten people to vaccinate.

One more day to the weekend, we are going to visit MIL, which will be exhausting, 10-14 hour round trip, but two days to do it in.

I was told by my surgry that the swine flu jab has the seasonal flu vaccine in it! Must be a different jab to what I had.

  • I reassured myself too today as i read on mumsnet from a GP led chat that those who had last years jab are still protected as swine flu hasn't mutated. One less thing to worry about.

The boys should be fine if they had the jab last year, glad you don't have to worry.
