  • NSD. DDs are being pretty vile. DH called SIL and offered to phone the various agencies and chase them, and miraculously the problems that existed a few hours earlier had evaporated.

Have credit card statements and the minimum payments are going down already so that's good. And £3 luncheon vouchers from pinecone for one survey which is v.good.

Very tired today, and permanently on tenterhooks which doesn't feel good.

  • NSD, and going to choose a puppy tomorrow. Very excited. Icy slippy roads on the way home from work, but home now, and fire's lit.

Soo looking forward to a weekend at home. Mortgage statement arrived and early redemption is 7k, just the fee, which means I don't need to worry about remortgaging off my fixed rate as it clearly won't be worth it.

Oh, not a NSD, just bought two bathroom bins in the MrS online sale for nappies, £6 each. Got an offer of moderation work from exam board, but can't do it this year as involves going to London for the day, not happening with a tiny baby.

  • I'm glad you have a weekend at home too. You sound like you need it. And the puppy choosing sounds fun.

Could the DDs be tired? My boys have been pains today which i think is tiredness. Can't wait for bedtime and hope they don't wake too early tomorrow.

Shame you can't manage the moderation. I chased up the GCSE marking and basically i am still being used as a reserve but realistically they won't be able to offer me anything. Shame as the extra money was going to go in the overpayment pot.

Are you talking about summer term exams or the ones now Michelle?

  • I basically sent an email to the address you gave me and said i was still interested and no changes had happened to add to my application, and the reply was that i was unlikely to be needed this year but they would keep me on the list and there might be some work when the syllabus changed again in 2012.

Even more reason to wish i had got my butt in gear sooner last year.
  • You're right, the DDs are tired, they're good girls really. Try AQA for moderation, maybe? Could you do a day in London?

I'm super excited about the puppy, as much as I feel free to be happy about anything at the moment!

Hmmm...I wonder what I'm going to get told then. I just got told they would pass my application on to the relevent people and that I would know the outcome in 4 - 6 weeks. Hope I get something for summer.

When are the sessions normally? Before or after the exam?

  • I only did SAT marking before, and that was the paper was sent to you before the exam and the moderation was the Saturday after the exam. Not sure how standard this is to do it this way? That was for edexcel.

They are normally soon after, they can't be before because of keeping the paper confidential.

I meant coursework moderation, which usually starts earlier, May ish, around half term. AQA are sending out contracts for the summer session now, but I think they do existing markers first, so in the next few weeks you would hear, I guess.

Having a horrible horrible day. Had a big row with DH this morning about nothing, went off to visit puppies, but SIL called en route and said he needed to go to visit MIL as things weren't good. He decided he wanted to carry on with puppy choosing, which we did and it was lovely. If I can only find the cable for my new camera I will upload a photo.

Stopped at services and saw Karen Gillan/Gillen/Gillam Amy Pond from Dr Who anyway.

Raced home and then DH chucked a couple of things in a bag, and set off the way he's come. He won't get there until 7 ish, and God only knows (and I mean that) how long he will be.
The house is a horrendous pit.

Parted with £20 in services, and it will cost us a fortune for a hotel room, but better than him staying with SIL (if she offered) as we can actually have a private conversation this way.
Poor MIL, I hope she doesn't suffer too much, and I hope she reaffirms her faith before she does.

Ploof! I'm about to find out how you feel, I think, Michelle, with your DH away a lot.

  • Sorry things are so up in the air. Sounds like your SIL is falling to pieces. I hate when stuff like this happens as it costs a fortune and you have no choice really but to do it. Hope he is ok.

Its one of them where quick is probably best but will it be that way? My grandma was about a month in hospital at the end, and its enough to have you all nerves jangling.
