  • You are doing great. Yes, you shouldn't be doing it, but you can do it, and you are going to be ok doing it. Get to bed as early as you can though tonight to keep it up.

Times like this i always think we should live closer to our MSE friends. We could all chip in then. Makes me think more fondly to when all my family on both sides were in one village, maximum of 1 mile away.

Sorry I don't post on here more often, GFH. I usually have a baby attached to a boob so it's difficult to type but I do lurk. Just to say I think you're doing amazingly well, the way you keep on going is just inspiring. Not too long to go now til half term and we all know this time of year is tough even for those of us who aren't heavily pregnant and supporting a DH while he cares for his terminally ill mum.

You are doing brilliantly, don't forget it :A:A

PS I second Michelle about getting closer together. Who votes we buy a massive mansion somewhere and all move in?
    Updating soon...
  • Thanks guys. He just rang when I was at a major low, so that was good timing. The DDs are really unsettled as he's such a great Daddy, they miss him.

Just booked him another night in the hotel (monday) *glum face*

He doesn't think it will be long, but he's also saying they will leave the nurse with her tonight, so???

Ironing is done, so at least if we are trekking round the country next weekend we will have enough clean clothes/uniform. Next up is DDs dinner.

  • Normally I'm just a lurker on your mfw thread, but wanted to say I'm
really sorry to hear about your mother-in-law.
Hope you and your girls all ok.
  • Thanks copperwheat. She was very old and had a good life, an easy life in lots of ways, and stayed alert and with it until the last two days really, and wasn't in a lot of pain until yesterday.

Mum has just burst my bubble of thinking DH is coming home tomorrow by telling me all the things he will need to do now. And telling me not to be so bloody selfish. She's right of course.

  • Sorry to hear that. It is a blessing it was quick for her, and relatively little discomfort compared to some.

It may be a rocky few days for you. I think your DH is going to feel really torn as by the sounds of it his sister will not be coping at the moment.

As hard as it sounds, you are coping, so he will probably support her for a little while and get some of the organisational stuff done. He might be able to do some of that from home, but they will need to do some of it there.

Timing is not brill for you, but even one week in the future, the hardest bit will be done. At least it is not Feb/March time when you will really need him.

I wish you strength to cope, and patience so you don't snap. Your his rock right now. Loss of a parent must be really hard. Hugs to you and yours tonight. xxx
  • Thanks, michelle, I will hang onto this bit
