Hi folks. I'm wibbling a lot these days, not popping in here as often, not eating very well etc ... I've managed some exercises but not as much as before.

I don't feel the vibe I was feeling a couple of months back ... I wish I could get it back! But I have some time off soon and I hope that will let me get rested up (I'm just exhausted at the moment) and motivated again before Christmas.

I'll probably drop in to say hello over the weekend. Glad to hear your mum's on the mend Consultant and well done to rachel for reaching your target! x

    Evening all

Hi John - well done, 8 stone is an amazing weight loss. Sorry to be a pessimist, but now comes the hard part - can you maintain it? Hopefully posting on here, helping other people, will help you to stay focussed so you don't start to creep up again. I lost 6.5 stones doing Slimming World, but sadly regained 2.5 stone. Since joining this thread I've managed to lose half a stone, but it's not coming off as easily as it did the first time, and I'd really like to get to target again.

Which sausages are free on SW? - I know Bowyers used to be, but I was never very keen on them and I'm not sure if they still are. Sainsburys do some that are less than 3% fat and 1 syn each on red days, which are very good - as good as full fat anyday!

Were you doing the No Count plan on WW?

Eels - wibbling? You and me both! I'm not sure what it is about the pre-Christmas period, but I just seem to be giving in to temptation all over the place. I've only myself to blame, but I'm going to put the blame on Sainsburys - they started me off with their goody bag (see previous post!), the mince pies were the first step on a slippery slope, closely followed by the Bendicks chocolate. I think Day One may be looming again, but I've got more chocolate to eat first, and a cappuccino with my name on it, so maybe it will be Monday.

Honey - enjoy your [STRIKE]dirty [/STRIKE]weekend in London with DH. Are you planning on some Christmas shopping in Oxford Street? Theatre? Have a great time whatever you do.

You asked about motivation, and as you can see from above, I am severely lacking in that myself at the moment. However, when I want to motivate myself, I examine my reasons for wanting to be slim - which are health (avoiding risks associated with being overweight, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes), being able to buy clothes in any shop I go to (rather than just the [STRIKE]fat bird [/STRIKE]shops for the larger woman) and generally feeling better about myself - more confident (more attractive).

When I was at my heaviest, all of these things were much more relevant - I was morbidly obese, I was in size 24 clothes, my self confidence was nil. Now that I'm not as overweight, the problem isn't as relevant, therefore the motivation isn't so great. In your case, maybe you've got to the point where you're quite happy with how you are, at least subconsciously. I know from your previous posts that you used to be a size 8 and now you're size 10/12? I'd guess that you're not in the 'at risk of health problems' part of the weight chart, and you probably feel quite good about yourself, having lost weight. So my motivators aren't going to be effective for you. What do you hope to achieve by losing more weight? Identifying that will be what motivates you.

Consultant - best wishes to your Mum, I'm pleased to hear she's on the mend, I hope she makes a full recovery.

Wow, what a long post - I'd better shut up before DH complains about me tapping away!

Have a good weekend everyone. If anyone sees my motivation on their travels please send it home to me.

  • Uncle Joes are the sausage that are sin free and they have loads of flavours. And yes I intend to keep off and have managed so far and intend to continue to do so. I would idealy love to lose another 7lb but friends keep tellin me im gettin skinny (Hello what do they know).

I find that WW/SW etc any of them are basically a change in lifestyle. Go back to eatin the same crap I used to and not exercising and yes I know I will gain the weight again. But stick to it keep my eatin healthy keep my exercise up and yes I will keep it off. I have to, I've thrown any other clothes other than the ones that look good now away (well gave to charity/sold on ebay). I am not paying for a larger wardobe i look and feel better now than ever before so no way am i giving that up :)

I cleared out all my large size clothes too, but it was before I'd discovered ebay, so they all went to charity shops - I could have funded some of the new wardrobe if I'd sold on ebay!

  • only you know about the pounds Jill - everyone else can SEE those half inches!

I've seen that a few times on here and didn't quitetake it seriously - until the last few weeks when my weight loss hasn't been as good but I seem to be punching a new hole in my belt every week. BTW, if you can get hold of a leather punch - probably b&Q - they're a real ego booster!
  • Morning all :D gosh this week has flown by!
Consultant i'm so glad your mums back at home & things are looking up
John did you do no count on ww? I've been counting points but felt like i needed something different so switched this week.
I'm feeling really proud of myself, so far i've managed days 1,2&3 this week :j think thats a record for me :rotfl:
I'm allowed 21 points in a week doing no count. So far i've had
    • a biscuit -1 point ( i avoided the chocolate ones i wanted and had the smallest plainest 1 in the box)
    • 1/2 a gin and tonic - 1/2 point (i would have had a whole 1 but we ran out of gin  )
    • pitta bread with my chilli last night - 2 points
    • 1/2 bottle of wine - shared it last night while watching telly with OH
I also avoided the box of maltesers which have been sat in the office from a parent all week.
Whats everyone doing this weekend? I'm painting DD bedroom so might pop in later.

  • Consultant It's good to hear that you mum is back home.

John Well done with your weight loss. I love brussel sprouts but would never put gravy on them as that would spoil their taste:eek:

lou I'm glad No Count is working out for you.

Lois. I have found your motivation. Here it is. Christams hasn't started yet:D

EeLS Exercise is addictive. Just start..and then you will keep at it.

I'm off over the fields with the dogs, to watch the kingfishers.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    Hello all.
Hope everyone is well - seems to be a bit of a motivation/negativity thing going on recently. I have not been very disciplined over the past two days either - I manage to drop my lunch all over the floor yesterday so ended up with a bag of crisps and a choccy bar from the vending machine at work instead.
Today had half a mince pie in M&S cafe before having guilt pangs and passing it on to OH to finish and then went to the pub for lunch and had a nice flatbread thing that could have all been virtually all accounted for with HE's and free foods but caved in and "shared" a bowl of chips with OH. At least it was diet coke not booze with the food!
Bought another size 10 skirt today but if I carry on like this in no time I'll be back in the 12's and beyond.
Think I'll take Dog for a walk before it gets too dark to try to limit the chip damage.

OH is home this weekend (not usually) so its temptation at every turn and he has absolutely no willpower!

Will probably stay in tonight and watch a movie - perhaps I'll do the syn free sweet potato chips for picking at whilst watching telly. (Would obviously rather have a big bag of Maltesers!)

    Take care
    Rachel.
