Knee Operation + unable to move around much + eating crap = a gain of 4lb

OH putting crap up high + Suggs not being able to climb a ladder to get the crap (because of knee operation) = Suggs not putting on weight.:D

Consultant I hope your mum gets better soon. I miss not reading your posts. You are always so encouraging to others.

Tallgirl - well done for eating carrots.:T
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Afternoon all, my its been busy since I last looked in!!

Consultant - sorry to hear your mum isnt too well. I hope things start to improve soon. Its a lot of pressure for you too so look after yourself too.

Some terrific weight losses reported today, Well done to Jill, Flis, Frankie, Miss MoneyPenny, Eels, Jeannie and anyone else who I missed :T:T:T:T:T:T

Suggs, dont beat yourself up about it. Look at how well you have done so far, this is just a blip and isnt it better that you are only 4lb heavier with a mended knee than still in pain and a few pounds lighter!? You can lose it again once you are back on your feet again (sorry!) Hugs to you anyway!
Tall Girl - sounds like you are going to have a great time when you are away

Lois - good luck at the quiz ;)

DH and I have spent the day Christmas shopping. Thats the bulk of it done for DS and DD thankfully. Just a few bits to get. I love Christmas :rudolf:

Weigh in tonight, I am so tempted not to go, but have to as I am away next week. I am stuck at this weight. I weighed myself this morning and I am either the same or 1/2 - 1lb heavier  I just cant understand why.My clothes size has dropped and some of my "smaller size" clothes are now feeling loose  I know I really should measure myself again but why has my weight stuck AGAIN??!!!
I really want to lose another 5-7 pounds, that way I can allow for a few pounds gain over Christmas and still be under 11 stone. Someone, help, please :o

It's possible that due to exercise you have put on muscle and lost fat.
This could possibly result in you being heavier but smaller and more toned.
This has happened to a few ladies in my class.
I know we all use our weight as a measure but there is no shame in being the same weight but being healthier and better toned.

The other possibility is that you are eating more than you think. Sometimes I think I've eat hardly anything but I add it up and it's amazing the way it adds up . It's dead boring but the only way to solve this is to write down everything you have and add it up at the end of the day. If you go to a class they will probably have sheets for you to do this on.
I find that if I have the sheets then I'm extra good because I know I have to write it down and justify it.
If you aren't weighing things then portion control could be a problem.

The third possibility is that you aren't eating enough (or frequently) and your body is holding onto fat.
I think not eating for long periods can do this (which is why some diets tell you to eat 6 times a day).
Again writing down what you eat should reveal your real calories intake.

Have you adjusted your calorie allowance for your new lower weight.

I was on 1500 calories a day but after loosing 2 stone my allowance was adjusted downwards as my body doesn't now need the same amount of calories.

Sorry if any of that is stating the "bleeding obvious".

No, it all makes perfect sense. I know I dont eat enough. I think thats why my loss is sooo slow, although I am thankful that it is staying off. I seem to be 1lb on, 1lb off each week. I think I will try to eat little, but more often, if that makes sense. Off to class now, will report back later with the depressing news :rotfl:

  • Hi all

    Thanks for the welcomes.

For those who asked I found the Cambridge diet fantastic! Very simple and easy to follow and even hubbie has done it too. We have both gone from Obese part of the chart to normal and a few pounds from ideal. I think you can get ill on CD if you don't drink enough water each day or have enough of the food packs. You can also get sick if you cheat and eat especially a carb binge. We've not been perfect but done really well and felt absolutely fab on it. We are not much closer, have greater respect for each other. We have both regained confidence and realise why we were attracted to eachother in the first place. We both feel way more in control of various aspects of life as well as food. However, food was taken out of the equation for a while and so now we need to relearn to eat in a healthier way. With three little boys we are looking forward to this for the whole families sake!

Lack of organisation was a huge problem for us and have joined flylady challenge so hoping that will also help me with the meal planning and organisation side of things. We actually love healthy options it is normally lack of organisation that has led to unhealthier eating in the past.

I'd like to lose about 1lb a week from now on and then maintain of course.

    Anyone tried Tesco ediets?

  • sorry to hear about your mum consultant. Hope everything picks up for you all.

time to weigh in and blimey! pizza + petrol = 500g weight loss! Maybe it was because it was unleaded? (i'd like to think that it's noting to do with the petrol and everything to do with the fact that I've had !!!!!! all syns this week apart from the pizza). Just as well i've got a loss this week, hoping for one next week too as i have a research trip for work on the 22nd. To the BBC Good Food Show! Can you say syns?!!?!

, sorry to hear about your mother, hope she gets better soon (((hugs))

Lois, thanks for the words and the hugs, your words are true arent they, so hard to lose the weight so much easier to gain it, not sure what you mean by swelling holding some of the weight though, at least the stitches come out tomorrow :T On a side issue, have you been to Boarders Bookstore, by the Hockey Stadium? It is massive! and the Starbucks isnt bad either :)

Right to do myself a stirfry.

    Chin up all
