Honey - I'm starting my diet in New Year along with my OH who is about 15/16st. Going to do SW diet because I have lost a bit of weight on it before but then always fell (bounced :D) off the wagon - I want to give it my full commitment this time because that is where I've failed before I think. I'll let you know when we actually start - both still feeling a bit under weather because of horrible sickness bug so want to feel like eating before I start my diet!! ;)
You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an
"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs :p :rotfl:

Hi rachie77 - I did see you the last time, I did a general welcome to all newcomers but sorry if you thought I had missed you ;) Welcome to the thread! I hope you stick around, its great to see so many newcomers pre-January!!

I havent tried the smoothie plan but I do know that once you start to puree fruit you need to count it as syns (on SW plan). The reasoning behind it is that when you have one apple it takes, say 5 mins to eat. Making a smoothie with 6 apples will only take seconds to drink and you would get through a lot of fruit/apples this way and so the syn value has to be counted. !!!!!!, I know! To be honest I have to say that I try hard to have a drink of water, or low cal squash when I feel hungry. It really does take the hunger pangs away and fills you up. Another resolution of mine is to try and drink at least 2l of water each day.

Mics chick - Hopefully you and your OH will start to feel better soon. Its good you will have each other for moral support

Thanks Honey, maybe it was me who wasn't reading it properly - lol - or maybe I didnt see it cos wasnt thinking of myself of a newcomer here as I was on here for a good few months but not been around for some time now so I guess I'm a newbie again!....! :D

2 Litres!! Eugh - I cant drink all that much water, I wish I could! I really must try to tho, its got to be better for me than eating the leftover Brie and Stilton from the cheese board like I just did

At least its gone now lol
We still have 2 tins of celebrations, 2 half tubs of pringles and other crisps from a party we had last week, to name a few. DH is going to take one tin into work and we will put the other away for a few months. I'm currently finishing off the chilli flavoured nobby's nuts - need to get rid of them!!

At least its not just me finishing off the xmas delights, I have let the kids stuff as much chocolate as they want over the last few days, I dont want it hanging around so the sooner they consume it the better! Its all over with then ey!! LOL!

Still got lots of tasty things to eat up round here, I am trying to resist but its futile!!

Well I managed 30 lengths (its only 8metre long) and an aquacise class yes I struggled :j

Welcome Back Rachie77, not sure if we have crossed swords before, but your name seems so familier. Welcome to all the newbies, plenty of support and help in here and I am sure Lois will soon appear and encourage you into the "2lb weight loss club" too. I Hope I got the right name.

Now the children have gone back to the mothers, I find a tin of celebrations, tube of pringles, packets of peanuts (not Nobby's! :j ) multipack of French Fries and various other things hiding in the study! Back to the garage it goes!

Hi Suggs, yes I think I remember ur name from last time I was here, I was even a member of the 2lb weight loss club when it first started up so that will give u an idea when I was around... I didnt do very well there tho but then the weight started dropping off as my OH was working away so I was enjoying lovely healthy food all summer....!! Since winter I have gone downhill again with the junk food and comfort eating, food is a real battle for me in this house, I have to please the kids, my OH who is fussy and really only likes junk food (but is far more overweight than me!) and myself who is a veggie!!

You are good with the willpower putting them in the garage like that! I dont have a garage, thats my excuse anyway - LOL!!

    Hi all

Welcome to all the newcomers - I admire your determination in tackling the problem straight after Christmas and not waiting until the New Year. :T If any of you are interested in joining in the 2 pound club, please let me know. You can find out more about it here.

Welcome back Rachie - your avatar confused me at first but I remember you well, you used to have a sparkly fairy didn't you?

Honey - 1.5 lbs gain is very good considering! I checked my weight on the scales yesterday morning and I'd gained a few pounds, but I'm making my official post Christmas weigh in on Monday 1st. My New Year resolution is also to get more exercise, and I've set myself a challenge to find forms of exercise that I enjoy, so I will be more motivated to do them. The first of these is dancing! DH and I are starting an evening class to learn ballroom and latin american dance on 17th January. I enjoy swimming too, but I'm not so keen in the winter, so I might keep that in reserve until it starts getting warmer.

Suggs - such willpower! I really must get rid of this large bag of Roses I brought back from my sister's, but I don't think the garage is the right place - they would attract the squirrels and mice we have round here!

Consultant - thanks for the timely reminder. I've been telling myself there's no point starting again until after New Year because I'm going to be eating a four course meal then, but of course it's never too early.

    TTFN!
