Lose Weight 8

Hi Tigerlily - 1250 calories a day should result in a good weight loss - any less than that and you run the risk of being short of essential vitamins and minerals, and you may find yourself hungry and lacking in energy. Exercise is a good way to burn off calories so you might find increasing your activity levels does the trick.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks lois for correcting my weight loss/gain!
The chocolate orange is still in the fridge. I keep telling myself it's terry's not mine. I don't think it would make much diffrence me putting it in the freezer consultant31. I like my chocolate cold and hard with a glass of milk.
I'm going out to a carvery tomorrow night with 14 people I've never met. They're all part of a childminding circle I'm a bit nervous but I'm dragging along a friend other wise I think I'd be knocking back the vino for some dutch courage. But I have been careful. My poor husband and kids had spagettie on toast for tea tonight. (still no cooker) but there's not much washing up to do which pleased my hubby. I don't do washing up. But the cooker should be here on Thursday.HOW MUCH ?0 -

Hello Kay and Tigerlily and welcome to the thread. We're happy to have you, regardless of the methods you choose to lose your weight.
Personally, I'm a fan of Slimming World, but we also have Weight Watchers, calorie counters and just plain old 'cutting-portion-sizers' here too, so you'll get lots of advice and support.
We have a recipe thread too which you can find by going back to post number 1 and following the link. Please feel free to add any good recipes you may have which we haven't already got.
Kay you've done very well up to now, are you following a specific plan?
Tigerlily I don't know how much you have to lose, but you should be able to lose weight at a nice steady rate on 1500 cals a day.
As long as you follow basic rules for healthy eating you should be fine. Do try to drink at least 2 litres of water a day (try it hot with a slice of lemon).
Lois where did you get that picture of me in my fairy costume? :rotfl:

Hey all. Sorry things are so quiet. I'm still around but am struggling hence the silence. I do well all day long then ruin it in the evening with a small, but functionary, binge on something which sends me over the 15syns a day (normally things like weetabix and extra hifi bars even after all my HEs have gone
). If anyone has any help for getting me around this then I'd appreciate it. I've not lost weight for weeks now which sucks, but at least I'm more or less maintaining as opposed to chuffing down all the mince pies for a change!
PS Suggs, I'm so envious! I'm sure everytime you post you've lost more. Wish I had your willpower to work so hard. Many congrats on the Levis0 -
Don't lose heart jenitells. Maybe it would help to re read your s/w book and start afresh. Or try doing the success express for a couple of days or a week. I tend to be an evening snacker. I do a lot of babysitting and that's what does me I raid cuboards for chocolate and cakes. I couln't imagine snacking on weetabix though. did I read that right?. I do try and keep w/w cookies or cakes and just have 1 with a cup of tea in the evenings that normally satifies me. You could even try the S.A.S log where you track every thing that goes in your mouth. that really helped me when I was stuggling. Hope this helps.HOW MUCH ?0

Afternoon all, hope things are going ok. busy few days for me, was at a meeting near Heathrow yesterday and then over in Norwich today, knackered now and yet to eat today!!! Will do soon I promise
proabably spent best part of 10 hours in the car!
Have to say that yesterday there was a sandwichs and crisps laid on, including Carrot, Beetroot and Parsnip crisps new to me, but very nice with it. Even fancy trying to do my own!
Jenittels, I try my best, trust me I suffer and fall off the wagon, I suppose thats way I am hard on myself and keep going to the gym. The levi's does feel good though. I think you might be in a need of a quick win? alyssa_mae has a couple of good points, as I too am an evening raider! So I keep Muller yoguarts and bananas in the fridge for this occasionmaybe you could plan to have something in the fridge for your raiding? Im sure the experts like Consultant can advise better.
I will be relaxing the lifestyle for the festive period though, once the invasion of children appear, I will partake in the festive food, after all it would be rude, not too

Suggs the carrot, beetroot and parsnip crisps, are very easy to make the SW way, as indeed are potato and sweet potato crisps!
Using a potato peeler, slice the veg as thinly as possible.
Spray a flat plate with FryLight.
Lay the veggie slices around the edges of the plate and FryLight them.
Pop in microwave, on high, for about 5 mins, depending on the wattage of the m/wave.
Check them every few seconds, 'cos they go from cooked to burnt in the blink of an eye, but mmmm, they're worth the effort!!
Jen & Alyssa evenings are the worst time of day for most of us I think. It's when the stresses of the day are over and we can relax that we suddenly start fixating on food.
The only things I can suggest are to have lots of low-syn or syn-free munchies around like the above crisps (for Green days mostly) or fruit or how about making a low-syn cake (recipes on the recipe thread).
Alternatively, you could take up a craft that keeps your hands busy, ie. card-making, crochet etc or give yourself a manicure/pedicure or some other pampering experience - you know you're worth itI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Blimey is there nothing the MSE site can't deal with? I weigh 23 stone so guess I'm about 14 stone "in credit"! :embarasse and about 35K in financial debit
and one really doesn't help the other I eat cos I'm depressed about money and I spend cos I'm depressed about weight?!
I don't want to fail another New Years resolution but I'm at my wits end. I went to see my G.P. & he said God made me this way & I should deal with it.
I've tried SW with some success but fall off the wagon every few weeks it's a year since I went & I've put on so much weight I can't face going back. Y'know just admitting this in words is a relief.:hello:
